Not only was the FG% 62.5% to 32.9%, The Griz actually took 20 more FGs in that doubling of FG percentage. That's wild.

The result was that Memphis hit 28 more FGs: i.e. a lot more than double what OKC hit. How is that possible. The answer: rebounding. Memphis had MORE than double the number of boards in this game: 53 to 26. That's insane !

p.s. The TO differential in this game was +9, as Memphis had only 10 and forced 19. Impressive!

p.p.s.
Aldama has a plus/minus of +52 in only 28 minutes played. That means that every minute Aldama was on the court, Memphis scored 1.86 more points than OKC did. Every single minute.

Robinson-Earl has a plus/minus of -56 in only 24 minutes played. That means that every minute Robinson-Earl was on the court, OKC got outscored by 2.33 more points. Every single minute

The funny thing about MEM-OKC is Memphis still has a -0.8 point differential on the year.

Even funnier, OKC now has the same negative point differential as the Magic. Our team has been just as terrible, but it's been spread out over multiple games. Heh.

I was thinking Sam Bowie with the Magic giving himself a rebound...knowing he would go down in history for both a triple-double AND getting it in a cheesy way  good for him!

It's not a coincidence whatsoever that the Rockets started playing better the moment Jalen Green got hurt and his 31 MPG went elsewhere.

Most teenagers, even extremely talented ones like Green, are absolutely terrible when it comes to impacting winning.

Green has a supremely bright future, but he was absolutely murdering every Rockets lineup when he took the floor.

Jalen Green is kind a everything wrong with building through draft.
He is most talented player in terms of raw talent, but has no clue how to actually be positive contributor ,and for whole lenght of his life he is told he is "star", and his "starness" he shows by taking most idiotic shots possible because he thinks he is entitled to them.
Years will pass by before Jalen Green turns into positive basketball asset. In mean time, he will take 500000 shots and shoot Houston out of incredible amount of games. Basically, i don't see how he will turn into net positive player during rookie scale contract. And he'll still get max.... Basically Wiggins situation. Guy needed almost 10 years to turn into positive player. Ofc team that sucked and wasted 7 years on him had no benefits of sacrificing years for him to finally emerge as net- positive.

Best case of building through draft is probably Mobley. Player that fills need for his team, who isn't usage w**ore and who understands that he does not need to hoist in air every ball he touches and in general seems to understand you can impact basketball game in many ways, not just by shotjacking.

I never really liked the Porter Jr and Green pairing. I've always felt you can't have 2 of those type of players and be successful. When they drafted Green I always felt they will realize eventually that 1 of them has to go for the better of the team.

Having said that, if we land a top 2 pick and Hou is willing, what is the opinion on the board of a Green for that pick trade?

Of course.

But the Rockets are for sure going to move Porter before they move Green.

Moving Porter Jr is easier said than done. Players like him and Cole that put up stats on bad teams don't have that much value.

I didn't say they'd get any kind of value for him.

I'm saying if they decide to split those guys up, they'll dump Porter way before they dump Green.

According to Rockets fans on the General Board, removing Theis from the lineup and moving Christian Wood to center has drastically improved the Rockets’ offense and accounts for most of the improved play.

I'm sure that hasn't hurt either, but Green had a -20.8 NET rating and a -5.8 BPM when he got hurt.

Getting him out of the lineup has unequivocally helped them in the short-term.

Obviously he has a very bright future still, but he was having a major negative impact on the court.

Houston now at six-straight wins. This from a team that had lost 15 in a row before this streak started.

Green was negative asset when he did play. He averaged 13 shots for 14 points, on putrid efficiency, was turnover machine and black hole on offense but also collosal black hole on defense.
At averge, teams outscore Houston by 13,8 points when Green plays. It's not all on him.

He, Cade, Suggs are best example why rebuild takes ages. They need ball to improve but when you give them ball, they flat out suck life out of team.
And that's general issue with former Develomental league. Because D, now G league does NOT serve it's orginal purpose because there is some sort of stigma that players sent there in rookie year- suck. Also G league quality ( mainly empty stat padding, no defense, very low quality of basketball ) plays to that stigma.
