Isn't the pick the Magic get from LA not available til like 2018? They traded all their recent draft picks to PHX.

cmon people. it's not the end of the world. this is what NEEDED to happen. we're cutting bad contracts. we're going to be terrible now which will get us a top 5 pick. this is how you rebuild. and we're getting talent who can be a part of a rebuild. bynum will get us too many wins to rebuild properly. houstons was lowballing us even more than this offer. all the nets had was lopez. this was the best deal on the table so we're taking it. and mark my words harkless is going to be a STAR in 5 years and will be a main part of our core going forward. so come off the ledge people, it's not as bad as it looks. we get to watch an exciting young team develop together and with future lottery picks coming in the future is bright.

Yup, 2017 at the earliest. Which isn't bad, considering Nash, Kobe, Pau would all be gone by then...BUT, it's probably lottery protected so who gives a ****

He can be bought out after this year for about $7 Million over two years, so very low impact if we decide to dump him. One article projects Magic cap room as $20 Million in 2014 with this deal.

Sorry Broussard, I'm not buying the "panicked" line. As long as we have already waited and drawn things out, why the eff would we be panicking right now in early August? I can't claim to know exactly why we ended up pulling the trigger on this deal, but I'm prett confident that panic never entered into the equation.

When you have every media guy bashing us why would any good free agent ever want to play here if they have other options? We are getting killed in the PR game... We have a rep worse than the Clippers. Let that sink in.

We're going to take a PR beating in the short term. Cleaning it up is a strategic problem, not a tactical one. We won't have money for a max free agent until 2014 anyway.
