I'd keep him if possible, but if we get a clear upgrade, deal him. He's one of the few guys I'd try to keep, but I wouldn't shed tears to see him go for a real upgrade like Monta or Smoove

He could flat out light it up.

All that talent wasted playing alongside lue, juwan, bogans, gooden, declercq... What a shame we couldn't put a better roster around him... :(

and we didn't have to trade him... emotions got in the way.

Lol he was locked up for two more years... Frikkin hockey gm...

If he gets you a first rounder, trade him.

To me everyone is tradeable if you are getting a first rounder this year because you are getting lottery talent up until like 24 maybe 25..

I think they want more than that. That may be the best deal we can do for Smoove and it would make them better imo. But to sweeten the deal we'd have to take back a bad contract, like M.Williams.

Good. We actually have a use for both of their bad contracts in Williams and johnson as they are clearly upgrades at both positions for us..

I love what BBD brings, that said, if we can't move other contract and it sets us up to have the cap space for a Dwight/Smoove/Ellis combo, you have to do it.

I wouldn't trade our few assets for a guy who is a free agent in 2013, if I was Hennigan my modus operandi would be selling Howard on the 2013 off-season; making him my recruiter. To accomplished that we would need to shed salary, so dealing Nelson,Jason Richardson,Hedo, Duhon, and Q-Rich should be the priority. To improve our team I would offer a bunch of vet mins and one year salaries, who wouldn't want to play with the best Center in the league?

P.S. Trading our veterans is a pretty hard task but it should be explored.

Imagine a frontcourt of Smith, Big Baby and Dwight. A lot of hustle going on near the basket.

@AlexKennedyNBA: The Houston Rockets are shopping everyone. Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin, Samuel Dalembert, EVERYONE. Even their mascot, Clutch, is on the block.

Sam Amick
With new Orlando GM Rob Hennigan having added Detroit VP of basketball ops Scott Perry today, sources say to be on the lookout for the possible addition of Chicago scout/senior manager of basketball operations Matt Lloyd. He isn't likely to make the jump until after the draft, but Hennigan has his eye on him as a respected scouting/stats man who was played a huge role in formulating the Bulls' college scouting database.

Per @sam_amick, Magic might look to add Bulls scout Matt Lloyd

Wow I am sure I am late on this but I had no clue Tony Parkers eye injury during that drake/chris brown fight was this serious:

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker revealed that the extent of the left-eye injury he sustained is much, much worse than he originally thought, could be serious enough to keep him from representing France in next month's 2012 London Olympics, and has the Spurs "very worried" about his future.

The Spurs point guard said subsequent tests revealed that a piece of glass "had penetrated 99 percent of [his] left eye," and that doctors told him he "almost lost his eye."

"A translation of the interview follows the jump: Tony, how's your eye a week after your return to France? It seems there are some complications ...

It's true, it's not going as I had imagined. When I gave my press conference last Friday after passing through the emergency department after getting off the plane, I did not think it would be so serious. I had additional tests on Friday afternoon and [they] found a piece of glass that had penetrated 99 percent of my left eye. I can say today, I almost lost my eye. So I had surgery on Sunday morning under general anesthesia. That's why I stayed in Paris instead of joining the team of France in Pau on June 20 as I had announced."
