Just because you have a man crush on parsons who will probably be out of the league in 5 or 6 years.

its much more likely that Bynum tears his knee a few more times and is out of the league in 5 or 6 years brah.
the ish that was talked about bynum by Orlando fans last year is so much different than everyone trying to justify him now. "Oh it was just two freak accidents which made him injured for 7 years" "Oh thats not immaturity, hes just being funny!" "He wants to play here!!!" "Hes better than Dwight anyway"

If we get Bynum, and have cap space in 13, unless you get CP3 it won't be enough. I think a player like Ellis is more likely FA option and that'll just be a good playoff team, and not a championship team. Plus with Bynum here, we'll be a fringe 8th seed team in my opinion, won't be a high pick next year. We have to rebuild

I see lotta people saying "Bynum doesn't wanna be here". There was only 1 report about that, and that was a report by Ric Bucher. He'd sell his family to get Dwight to Brooklyn ..

Meanwhile, there is still optimism in the Nets camp that a two-team Dwight Howard deal can be done with Orlando. The main reason? As many as five first-round picks are in play that would wind up going to the Magic. They'd obviously be late first-rounders, but Orlando GM Rob Hennigan has prioritized picks above all else in this process.

Lame.

This is a direct contradiction with what Wojnarowski said earlier -- that the Magic were focused on Bynum.

But even if they can't get Bynum, they can get better picks from Houston.

I think the only reason people like this proposed trade is because it is better than the Nets' offer. That doesn't make it a good trade.

Yeah :-? ... I mean the only reason I could see Rob wanting those 5 late first round picks is if he trades them (package them with players) down-the-line in order to get better players or move up in the draft... but that's never a sure thing either.

Bynum on the other hand is a 20/10 C. Will there be a C of that level available with Houson's picks? Doubt it. Quality Centers are hard to find. Bynum is one.

Guess everyone has other thoughts about this. The Houston package isn't bad, but I really prefer Bynum.

I seem to recall Darko being compared to Dirk before he had played at the NBA level as well. I'd rather have a proven talent in Bynum than an unproven European player as the cornerstone of the team.

Darko as Dirk? Come on. Darko is a low-post player with good D, nothing in common with Dirk

The pick Houston just got from Toronto will be pretty nice.

Yep. And historically speaking it will have a slim chance in producing a player as talented as Bynum.
Since when did picks become automatic HOFers?
How come I didn't get that memo?

I guess. I don't like that the picks are so far in the future. Won't we still be picking in 2020 or something? It's like I am giving you my Rolls Royce now, and you wrote me a post dated check for 8 to 10 years from now. ugh. I wanted multiple picks in the same draft(s). I still hope Henny isn't even looking at this deal.

also compared to Pau Gasol.

Hes very gifted offensively on a reasonable contract. probably fits PF more than Center.his worse case is YI Jilian. u cant teach Bigs who can shoot the ball well from all over the court. hes a decent rebounder as well. needs some better defense though

Late first round picks that possibly won't even be in the league in a 1-3 years are kind of a waste. I'm all for getting draft picks, but just good ones.

Also we'd have a sick 2k franchise team. In a year or two everyone would be over 85. Do this trade!!

Ok, obviously not just like Dirk, but just as impactful.

Some have compared Milicic to Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, but Donn Nelson, the Mavericks' president of basketball operations doesn't think it's a good comparison.

"We saw Dirk as a multi-position player, but I think Darko is a pure (power forward)," Nelson said. "Darko doesn't shoot it from as far as Dirk does, but Darko is more dominant in the paint. Dirk is more of finesse player while Darko is more of a power guy.

"Obviously, we think the world of Dirk. But I would be very surprised if Darko was not a success in this league."

My point still stands, I'd prefer a proven 20/10 NBA center to a projected European player.

Agreed.
the top 2 centers in the game exchange hands and the magic get...
Picks.
With the miracle hope that one of them pans out to become...
a top 2 center in the game.
Uh...

I'm grabbing a drink.

Your GM wants picks, your GM is making it clear you're going to rebuild, Bynum DOES NOT want to re-sign with the Magic.

Beggars can't be choosers & that's being ungrateful if you two think that deal is anywhere near bad given the circumstances.

I'm all for bringing in Royce White and Parsons plus a few picks and more young players. I'm just ready to get this over with.
