the ish that was talked about bynum by Orlando fans last year is so much different than everyone trying to justify him now. If we get Bynum, and have cap space in 13, unless you get CP3 it won't be enough. I think a player like Ellis is more likely FA option and that'll just be a good playoff team, and not a championship team. Plus with Bynum here, we'll be a fringe 8th seed team in my opinion, won't be a high pick next year. We have to rebuild

This is a direct contradiction with what Wojnarowski said earlier -- that the Magic were focused on Bynum.

But even if they can't get Bynum, they can get better picks from Houston.

Yeah ... I mean the only reason I could see Rob wanting those 5 late first round picks is if he trades them (package them with players) down-the-line in order to get better players or move up in the draft... but that's never a sure thing either.

Not really a fan of Houston's package. Their picks aren't high picks & their best young players are Lamb & some European C who's never played in the NBA. Not really blown away here ..

Bynum on the other hand is a 20/10 C. Will there be a C of that level available with Houson's picks? Doubt it. Quality Centers are hard to find. Bynum is one.

Guess everyone has other thoughts about this. The Houston package isn't bad, but I really prefer Bynum.

well maybe explaining that if we do this trade we would be tanking this year and getting a top 5 pick likely. any trade with the rockets will give us a Player whos been compared to Dirk in my opinion as well as torontos pick(especially if its not lottery protected) meaning we could easily have 2 top 5 or at worst 2 top 10 picks to rebuild around. think something Like Mohammed and a Center like Zeller, Gobart, Austin, or noel.

I seem to recall Darko being compared to Dirk before he had played at the NBA level as well. I'd rather have a proven talent in Bynum than an unproven European player as the cornerstone of the team.

Yep. And historically speaking it will have a slim chance in producing a player as talented as Bynum.

I guess. I don't like that the picks are so far in the future. Won't we still be picking in 2020 or something? It's like I am giving you my Rolls Royce now, and you wrote me a post dated check for 8 to 10 years from now. ugh. I wanted multiple picks in the same draft(s). Hes very gifted offensively on a reasonable contract. probably fits PF more than Center.his worse case is YI Jilian. u cant teach Bigs who can shoot the ball well from all over the court. hes a decent rebounder as well. needs some better defense though

Ok, obviously not just like Dirk, but just as impactful.

Some have compared Milicic to Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki, but Donn Nelson, the Mavericks' president of basketball operations doesn't think it's a good comparison.

"We saw Dirk as a multi-position player, but I think Darko is a pure (power forward)," Nelson said. "Darko doesn't shoot it from as far as Dirk does, but Darko is more dominant in the paint. Dirk is more of finesse player while Darko is more of a power guy.

"Obviously, we think the world of Dirk. But I would be very surprised if Darko was not a success in this league."

My point still stands, I'd prefer a proven 20/10 NBA center to a projected European player.
