It's not official guys, in fact we have to see how the Lin and Asik offer sheets play for maybe up to a week from now. Unless I missed something this was already said a few hours ago so nothing's changed..

But this is a helluva a great deal. The only thing I forgot was the draftees are coming on rights only, that gives Orlando Parsons, Morris who I like, and Patterson has also played well on top of the three just drafted players. The other differences from the draft day offer was Lowry exchanging for a lotto pick very likely and the Rockets gaining direct cap space to give Orlando TPE's instead of Dalembert's payment of a last year, and possibly Scola's long term deal too. Kevin Martin presents a probably very enticing expiring. Then the obvious other picks, from Dal and Hou futures with very limited protections.

My first move is always to keep Dwight and make him walk away if it was really in his heart after one more season, but I understand he's not here anymore and would support this trade like crazy too. I'm completely sold on Lamb and Jones being somewhere between good role players to borderline all stars, and the cap space and picks (one TOR lotto eventually with possibly our own lotto) is incredible in starting to make a new young team core. My gut instinct is to flip Turk, J Rich and Duhon if possible, and make the same Jameer/BBD magic from the late last season and playoffs again during the early next season to do a deadline-ish deal off BBD for hopefully a nice rookie scaled player or a first rounder of any sort. But the glut of bigs is huge and I want the Magic to develop youth so I can deal with BBD in the deal too. There is no deal that has beat this kind of cap space reduction, picks potential. There's no injury prone, maxed deal but headlining Bynum or Lopez, but there is young guns who are on rookie deals and whose athleticism and potential warrant a starter or rotation spot of a rising title team down the line (Lamb, Jones, lotto(s), White?, Parsons?, Morris?). I fully believe we will have atleast two more lotto talents and roster continuity working with a Houston package than any other deal through the end of our rebuild.

When did they? They got max deals in their sign and trade to the Heat 2 years ago. They took a little less, like 500K or 1 million per, but they sure didn't lose 25 to 30 million. Also all 3, Wade, Bosh and Lebron, got player options in 2014, which all 3 will take so all 3 could be making 20+ million after the 2013-2014 season.

But both could resign for 6 years MAXs with their teams and get more money than they did in Miami, why can't Howard do the same thing they did to join the team of his choise? Especially if you add Adidas money boost for playing in a large city.

Yeah it's really awesome. The fact that he is only 30 years old makes this even more impressive.

There are no more sign and trades for max deals. That was taken out via the new CBA so basically Howard will only get the full deal on the team he is on at the end of the 2012-2013 season. Otherwise he can walk and leave 30 million on the table or sign with the Nets for the MLE and leave 100 million on the table.

In other words, he isn't leaving the team he is on in the summer of 2013.

I think on the Android and iOS twitter apps you can now choose to get notifications from specific accounts whenever they tweet. We need an account that only tweets official transactions, so if your phone beeps you know something just went down.
