Ideal of letting him walk and leaving money on the table is so misinterpreted, people think of it as leaving around 30 mil on the table, that is only true if he never plays another game after his 4 year contract. The only thing happens is he will play a 4 year deal instead of a 5 year then he will either extend or sign a new contract, its not like he wont get paid the season after his 4 year deal.

The only thing he will lose for walking is instead of a 7.5% pay raise he would get a 4.5% raise. That is around 4 to 5 million for the 4 year deal. He can make that up just off being with a new fan base wanting his products.

Think about it like this, A player can have a 15 year career, no matter how his contracts breakdown by years it still will be a 15 year career

D12 source tells me, #Magic have almost no chance with Dwight, but "Getting Josh Smith could help keep him in Orlando" #Orlando #NBA

This by far is the most boring/dramatic Magic off-season.

We'd have to give up any type of asset we have to get Josh Smith from our division rival. JJ + BBD would be going for sure...not even sure what else we could offer to pull it off...

it would need to be a 3 or 4 team trade with us getting some more dead wood from other teams, us sending out jj, bbd, jrich perhaps nicholson and picks. It's not likely, but it isn't impossible either.

If Dwight really wanted it to happen he could make it happen.

Every offseason is like this for us. 2010 we waited for CP3 and got Orton, Duhon, and Q. Last year, we waited for Josh Smith, got BBD. So far this off season, we got Ayon, Nicholson, and KOQ. It has been a long time since we've had an impact acquisition.

James Harden will consider signing with the Suns if his contract expires after next season.

"Yeah," he said. "Of course. I love it there. My mom lives there still. So that's definitely my second home as far as my comfort level and going to school there. But obviously, I'm with the Thunder right now and what we have is special."

Oklahoma City will be able to match any offer Harden receives.

"That's out of my hands," Harden said. "That's not my decision. That's the front office. I'll let them decide that."

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
Rob Hennigan told Rockets he wasn't ready to trade Dwight yet, so they basically moved on and said they'd try again in a month

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
Sources close to Magic think Rob will attempt to please Dwight first. Some think he's stupid, others think it's a risk worth taking.

Dwight apparently brought up the names Josh Smith and Stephen Jackson in the recent meeting as players they said they'd get but never did

Hmmm...So Dwight thinks this is 2k12 and can force trades huh? Dwight is not being realistic....probably intentional....if these tweets have any credence that is.....

Imagine if Rob can pull off the inevitable by Dwight re-signing with us! Especially since most GM's would have caved in to the challenge...he has that me against the world mentality :D

Dwight should realize that not many people would put up with his camp.

Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition)

Post#1198 » by MagicTownBaller » Sat Jul 28, 2012 2:17 am

I just watched "The Three Stooges" (The new one) and it kinda got ruined for me when I saw Dwight Howard in it. He was wearing Magic colors and my dad and I both screamed "TRAITOR" at the tv.
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)
