On September 14, 2007, Oden had microfracture surgery on his ailing right knee. He missed the entire season.[8] Oden's progress was recorded on the Trail Blazers' website and his blog.

Although drafted in 2007, Oden was classified as a rookie for the 2008–09 season because of the knee injury.[9] Entering the 2008–09 season, he was listed at 250 lb (110 kg), but according to Blazers' trainer Jay Jensen he weighed about 290 lb (130 kg) in July. Oden left his NBA debut with a foot injury after playing thirteen scoreless minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers.

On December 5, 2009, Oden injured his left knee in the first quarter of a game. He was taken off the court on a stretcher. Later, he underwent surgery for a fractured left patella and missed the rest of the season. That injury marked the second time Oden had missed major playing time due to injury.

On November 17, 2010, the team announced that Oden would have microfracture surgery on his left knee, ending his 2010–2011 season.

On February 3, 2012, Oden underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. On February 20, 2012, Oden was scheduled for a procedure on his left knee similar to the procedure he underwent 17 days earlier. However, during the operation, further damage to the articular cartilage was discovered, and Oden underwent his third micro-fracture surgery.

By playing 82 games in his entire career so far, he has effectively played one full NBA season over the span of five seasons from 2007 to 2012.

Your comparing Oden to Noel? Noel weighs less than Shabazz Muhammed, its not even close to the same thing

And Microfracture surgery is WAY more career altering then an ACL. Far more serious procedure.

 If no other player stands out to make a difference and we cant trade down for 2 later 1sts I would go Noel if not for the simple fact he will not be playing next season for the most part and at worst considering he comes back from the ACL injury fine, he becomes Tyrus Thomas who was pretty valuable until he signed that big deal. No one else in this draft looks to be a difference maker in the NBA so go on a guy with size and upside

March Madness has sucked so bad for top prospects I was on the Noel wagon again, but then reading about the guy missing all of this soph year of HS gives me another huge pause.

I hate this years draft!!!!!

I believe I saw that there is only a "20% chance" that growth plate fractures suffered as a minor have an effect long term. Either way still a risky pick. I won't act like an e-doctor though, I'll wait for Rob and the Magic to take a closer look at him. He is still my #1 prospect until/if he gets red-flagged

I would be ok with Hennigan going after him

I almost got shot last week when I proposed us trying to grab wall instead of gambling with any of these PGs. If he was in this draft he'd be taken #1 again. Look at his numbers this year and tell me with good big men he wouldn't step his game up. Only big men he's has is Kwame brown, Okafor, and a broken Hilario.

47 pts while filling up the stat sheet as well? jesus

The Wizards (26-44) are 21-16 since Wall returned from a left knee injury.

Just one question, considering we draft Noel, could we just sign him for the 14-15 season and beyond, right? We could simply dont sign him next offseason and keep his rights next season.

Also just read that Nicholson sprained his ankle.....

How long is he expected to be out? Weird thing is I assumed something like this would eventually happen to him...The way the guy runs is just weird to me, he seems extremely awkward and IMO the more awkward your body motion is, the easier it'd be to hurt yourself.

Anyone foresee future issues with drews health?

No agent would ever let that happen. Besides, whatever team that takes him will want him under contract and in the facillities to keep on top of (and in control of) the rehab and checks.

Being so slow and hardly ever jumping probably means less chance of injury if anything, maybe thats why those unathletic cats stay in the L for like 15 years lol.

Well, they could let him overseas, the agent doesnt have control in this case, IMO.

Washington already invested the #1 overall pick in him, how exactly do you expect to pry him from Washington?

Wall wants a MAX contract, so i think the only way is a SnT + Okafor/Nene for our #1, some prospects and TPE.

^^ I would do that in a heartbeat. Give them Turkoglu in the trade so they can instantly cut 6 million from payroll

If he doesn't sign a contract to play professional basketball this year, his rights go back into the draft next year.

Well, at least overseas, Noel could use all those illegal Rehab drugs and stem cell stuff to come back a year later as the Bionic man after all the drugs are out of his system.

Are you sure about it? So if it's the case, if a NBDL team sign him for one season we would keep his rights?

Why do the Magic still own the rights to Vasquez if he never signed for years after being drafted?

Man i was thinking just now that despite everything that happened to us we're in a situation that's more or less looking up. Could you imagine if we had Bynum right now? Our board would be on suicide watch

^^I'm not sure that would be the case. With Bynum we'd be tanking even harder and we'd have a great shot at Wiggins next year
