Nobody cares.

Nobody cares that someone we drafted is turning out to be a pretty good player and will most likely end up better than the guy we traded him (plus a first round and second round pick) for?

Then why are we here?

Nope, it's in the past. We didn't draft Kobe. Are we crying about that?

Because it never would of made sense to draft him. We didn't need a 4th SF/PF when we already had Harris, Harkless and Gordon who had just been picked 8 picks earlier. We had a glaring need at PG with zero prospects at the position. Also we gave up basically a 2nd round pick or 2, not a 1st because of the crazy protections that needed the super tanking D-League Sixers making the playoffs which would never happen.

Could very well come down to tonight. Going to be very invested in this loss and very dismayed it Jodie Meeks brings up a W.

1. We knew he wasn't coming immediately. There was never going to be a logjam.
2. We also knew we had no desire to keep Harkless. He was traded for a 2nd rounder.
3. Gordon wasn't a SF in college and isn't one now. Making draft decision based on a postion you project a guy could play is a bit foolish.
4. You should never expect to draft a a starter at 12. The late lottery is where you get guys who can be contributors. I don't think anyone would be offended if we had used that pick on a bench guy.
5. Yes, we needed a point guard, but remember that free agency comes after the draft. We didn't do ourselves any favors. We coudl have held onto Jameer if it was such a need. But instead, we waive Nelson and the forgettable Ronnie Price, let Moore walk, and then throw money at Ben Gordon, Willie Green, and Luke Ridnour. Imagine if we had used that pick on Saric, and instead took a chance on Isaiah Thomas, who went to Phoenix to be a backup. Or even someone on the Patty Mills level.

Very different scenarios.

We drafted a guy and then traded him with additional assets for another guy who probably won't be as good. So in evaluating the performance of our front office and scouts, yes, I feel it should be highlighted.

Board should come back alive around lottery time. I'll be more active then.

It's not about letting go or being hung up on stuff - it's about evaluating our front office.

And in the grand scheme of things, 3 years is not that long ago when it comes to evaluating draft prospects and how they've turned out.

I've had fun watching AG and Payton grow, and those drafts were a little less predictable.

The Mario draft wasn't that fun because nobody moved at all and we got snubbed from Porzingis. :x

I hate the long wait until the draft lottery. They should do it when the playoffs start. Gives teams longer to prepare for their slots or talk deals.

But yeah the draft is always fun when you have a high pick. I hate how Twitter has made it so I have to put my phone in another room while watching though.

Vucevic, the Magic’s longest-tenured player at five seasons, knows that it’s important for the team’s building process that it finish the season out while still playing hard and trying to win games. “Obviously, we’re all disappointed with the season that we’ve had and not getting to the playoffs,’’ Vucevic said. “But I think we can still finish this out on a positive note and hopefully build a solid base for next year. We’ve got to play hard and try to win every game left in our season. When we step on that court, we’ve got to try and win. It’s not going to maybe matter that much (for this season), but it still feels better than losing.’’

He talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Vuc doesn't really care about us rebuilding properly, he's probably just fine taking a fat paycheck and getting his numbers.
