sorry my dude, but not yet anyway. He has the potential down the road. He certainly is ahead of Suggs in terms of where they are at in their 2nd years in the league
Suggs showed more in college than Black has shown his rookie year. I dont believe AB is ahead of Suggs in their 2nd years.
As a playmaker i think AB does... but its my fault anyway seeing as AB still hasnt or is still.not "officially" in his 2nd year. Lol

Same, in the summer league and now preseason he's shown he's super tall, athletic and can make quick decision just needs more time.

Even over 2 preseason games, he still wasn't playmaker. his role looks way more as sort of off ball catch&shoot SF than anything close to playmaker.

Well, at least here in Seminole county, the storm hasn't been that bad. Didn't lose power, but getting multiple brown outs per hour. My streets not flooded as well. Storm is now off shore. Still getting wind gusts but think they are under 75mph.

During Charlie, the eye went right over my head and didn't lose power. Had 10 trees in yard topple over though.

I don’t even think he is better than Fultz. What makes AB such an attractive player is his potential not necessarily that he is great right now. I just wonder if he can reach that potential.

The fact that AB is actually willing to shoot already makes him better than Fultz....

I am not even a Fultz guy, but Fultz was better than AB in every other aspect of the game other than maybe defense. Most of this has more to do with the fact that Fultz was a veteran. But if it wasn't for AB's potential, I would take Fultz over him. This should tell you how dire the point guard situation is for the magic as of right now. The hope is that AB reaches his potential.

AB already shoots better from three, has a better free throw rate, and plays better defense.Rainwater wrote:RookieStar wrote:Rainwater wrote:

Excluding the free throw rate, that is pretty much what I said. There was a reason Fultz was playing over AB in the playoffs.

We looked way better when Black was getting minutes rather than Fultz. I remember crushing the Pacers in Indiana. Black blocked Haliburton a couple of times, and Mathurin wanted to fight him because his defense was too tight.

Yes, AB generally provided more of a boost to lineups vs Fultz. Wild that Mosley ended up benching AB. Also:basketballRob wrote:We looked way better when Black was getting minutes rather than Fultz. You could make a case for “able” more so than “willing”…hopefully, he’ll take more this year (and hit ‘em at a good rate). I only remember him pulling up off the dribble once…the other shots were only taken with no one nearby…to my recollection at least

Re: Official Offseason Thread 9.0: The Long Road to October
Orlando just signed center Robert Baker II and waived guard Javonte Smart.
I really liked Baker last pre-season. But his G-league campaign was very mediocre: 29 games (18 starts) with College Park of the NBA G League, averaging 14.7 ppg., 6.3 rpg. and 2.2 apg. in 28.2 minpg., while shooting .523 (134-256) from the floor.

Re: Official Offseason Thread 9.0: The Long Road to October
Here is my never going to happen off the wall idea.
Focus and development only. Suggs and Black given full reign to make mistakes to try out actually being playmakers.
Jett and TDS paired with vets and players who have gravitational pull to give them opportunities to develop and gain in game development.
Corey and Caleb should get zero minutes as they have no future here. Corey is a player/ coach from the bench only.
Cole plug and play for injuries to Suggs or Black
Harris plug and play for injuries to Jett or KCP
Goga plug and play for injuries to WCJ, Moe, or JI
