I'm gonna puke if I have to see Rashard in a Heat uniform.

I'm still in awe tht people thing getting lowry, dalambert and a couple of low first rounders is fair value for Dwight. That wouldn't even get you Andrew bynum for God sakes.

I don't think anyone is saying that's fair value, but given the options available to us, and if those were the ONLY options, and no other teams are offering anything, why not take Houston's deal?

This is just so infuriating we gave him all that money and now he is gonna go ring chasing and get carried to a ring you disgust me all respect is lost i dont give a damn what you did for us (which prolly was done using an illegal PED) Get out of here scrub
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

He won't get a ring in NYK so he is more than welcome to go there

Because if all roads lead to the lottery, we may as well get it done the right way. Completely gut the team. No sense in having a 40 win team and drafting in the 10-14 range for the next few years.

I honestly hope that we have seen the last of the days the Magic overpay and/or give max type contracts to players that aren't deserving. We could have allocated the $100+ M we gave to Rashard and use that money in a totally different way. Oh well that's "spilled milk" now anyway.

If you really think about it, all the time Hennigan has worked with the Spurs and OKC, he really hasn't been a part of over-spending. I don't think he was a member of the Spurs when they traded or resigned Jefferson. So, I think he is the cap guru this team will need to contend and bring in solid yutes.

The Spurs and Thunder are teams that usually don't get involved in FA. They pick up veterans who get bought out after the deadline, but usually don't use the MLE. Otis overused the MLE and it didn't bring us much.

It isn't, but we will never get fair value for Dwight. Lebron James is fair value.

That's what I love about this hire and that's what I hope comes to fruition with our program. We should make shrewd trades when needed, draft very well and continue to develop and KEEP the players we invest in. I'm patiently awaiting this 3 pm news conference so we can get a better feel for our new GM. I'm also interested to see Alex's answers on how we fill out the rest of our basketball operations staff (POBO).

What about something like this IF Dwight does sort of demand a trade or if the organization decides to go that route to avoid all the drama again if he won't extend....

Dwight + S&T Ryno to LA for Bynum + Pau

Flip Pau + Hedo to Memphis to play with his bro (rumors are they are very interested in this scenario) for ZBo + Gay

Build around Bynum + ZBo (best frontcourt in NBA) + Gay.....Nash for the MLE would be amazing with

Nash/Draft pick
JRich/JJ
Gay/Q
ZBo/Earl
Bynum/BBD

He has until July 1st to opt out of his contract when Free Agency begins.

"I don't want to play in the Olympics without a contract," Williams said.

Williams could miss the Olympics if he makes good on his word and opts out. USA Basketball officials will pick the 12-man roster in June, while the free agency signing period starts on July 1. Training for the U.S. team starts in Las Vegas on July 6, and the team travels to London July 17.

Thanks! So basically deron won't be a net this year.

Why? The LA trade certainly isn't crazy and Memphis wants Pau evidently....and they have obv been rumored to want to trade Gay....and with Pau and Marc there, ZBo isn't really needed...they would have Hedo coming off the books shortly. Maybe you need to sweeten the deal a lil more for them, but you act as though that's somehow impossible?
