Kidd was great player.
That's any positive that can be said about him.

S***y person, sh***y behavior, for things he got away in 2001 today he would be blacked out by sports world.
Agressive off the court and even as a coach.

Most hilarious excuse he was doing during his stint for Bucks was that he kept blaming on "young roster" for underachiving, but among 8 rotation players, 6 were 26 or older, including 40 years old Jayson Terry and 32 years old Teletovic.

I hope we don't hire Kidd, he's an *sshole and to date a pretty underwhelming coach.

Would not mind if someone broke this up into different threads for candidates when it's rumored The magic have been given them permission to interview them.

I don't understand interviewing Kidd, unless it's just a smokescreen. I think he would be a terrible fit for where this team is now.

Yeah if we get Kidd, this team is set up to fail. This will implode quicker then anyone can imagine, horrible coach.

Those Milwaukee teams under Hammond stunk though, as you’ve pointed out before. Maybe not that young but still bad roster construction. I don’t think he really needs an excuse for the underachieving.

In general, I’m a fan of Atkinson, Vanterpool and Hammon in this hiring cycle.

For Orlando I feel Kenny Atkinson or David Vanterpool would be ideal.

I feel it would be best for all parties if Becky Hammon got her shot somewhere else.

The more I think about it the more I want it to be Atkinson or Vanterpool.

Those two have already proven that they can develop talent at some point in their careers.

Hammon would be a “splashy” hire for PR, but does her starting job really need to be with a super young roster without an established go-to player? Not ideal.

Kenny’s stint in Brooklyn from 2016-2019 was a pretty good indication that he’s capable of getting the most out of a young group in a relatively short timeframe.

Vanterpool gets praises from Lillard and McCollum for his contributions in Portland.

This feels very lazy to point out that his final year the main rotation was over 26, he was only the coach of that team for half the season and there were changes made to the team that off season

and PS, 40 year old Jason Terry is not a good thing

His first year, there was 12 different guys that started atleast 10 games and the average age of those 12 was 24
also this team had a second year Giannis, who wasnt the giannis of today.

His 2nd year on the bucks, the starting lineup was

c - Greg Monroe aged 25
PF - Jabari Parker aged 20
SF - Giannis aged 20
sg - Khris Middleton aged 24
pg - Michael Carter Williams aged 24

His 3rd year

C - John Henson - aged 26
Pf - Jabari aged 21 (as usual missed 31 games), backup was 19 year old Thon Maker
SF - Giannis, 22
sg - Tony Snell 25 (middleton only played 20 games)
Pg - Malcom Brogdon for half the season, 24... but he was a 24 year old rookie 2nd round pick, the rest of the year was 26 year old Delladova

So yeah....he was in charge of a very young team for most of his tenure there

We'll probably interview Cassell, Ham, and Billups, as they get eliminated.

Denver fans seem a bit nervous to lose him. Happy he's getting a shot but they absolutely don't want him gone.

Usually a good sign.

Interesting

Also nice that he has ties here and knows the upper management\owners (atleast youd like to assume he would)
Not to mention, would probably be nice for RJ and Harris to get to work with him again and for him to come here and not have ALL new faces

Bud was a hot name years ago but he has looked terrible for years. Watching the bucks offense (broken ISO plays and not putting Giannis’ butt in the paint) and defense (former DPOY Giannis guarding a scrub while Durant torches you) was infuriating and I’m not even invested in the outcome.
