I wont be devastated or down. This is a great time to be a magic fan and this is all healthy debate and fun speculation. Whoever the front office signs off on, it will be exiciting. They all have their strengths and the front office is most likely doing nothing but looking at their weakness.

Who knows, we might trade.down and take.ivey :)

watch some of that passing boys. this is the guy. why wait for handles/passing at 6'11 when we can have it now. And he is easily the most explosive of the top 3.

41 inch vertical at 250 lbs

Yeah I kinda wonder why so many are down with PB's 3pt range when in videos, he actually shoots and makes them while being guarded A LOT. It doesn't look broken at all.

I feel like we'll pick the Ayton of this draft (one notch below star, foundational piece, #2 or #3 on a winning team) while the Thunder or Rockets will end up getting the Luka/Trae (superstar/star).

Paolo seems more like a guy to build around as a #1 piece and Jabari seems like a guy who's gonna need other players or an offense designed for him to succeed.

ive said it before. Tatum really isnt some great defender. and you need team defense, not just individual defense. no reason JJ Redick can become a decent team defender and Paolo cant. Paolo much more athletic.

I don’t understand why people are comparing Tatum and Paolo at all. Paolo is a big …

I understand why people WANT Paolo to be Tatum. That doesn’t make it true.

Paolo and Tatum aren't really comparable. I honestly don't really have a good comp for Paolo. Theres some Melo mixed with playmaking upside mixed with Randle bully ball with good handles. He's quite a unique prospect. Him and Chet don't have real comps that make sense.

Comparisons stop the minute a guy starts playing in the NBA and has his own skillset mixed with players that probably aren't being named. Barnes got a lot of AG + Draymond comps here and he plays like neither one of them really.

I read somewhere on Twitter that had early Josh Smith as a comp for Banchero - I think this is a better comp for him than anyone currently in the league that I've heard so far. I think Banchero is a slightly better playmaker but there's definitely parallels.

What do you see as simarities ? I dont see any except that they are bot tall. Completely different strengths and weaknesses.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Both are in the 6'8 barefoot to 6'10 in shoes height. Other than that what is the smiliarities?
One is a hyper athlete that has a quick jump while the other is more cerebral.
One can handle the offense while the other one needs a lob or assist to score.
One can shoot wherever while thw other one is known for point blank dunks.

I dont get it.

yeah, have to agree with the others, not a good comparison. Smith was known as a very good defender, decent ball handler and decent passer but not great at all on offense. good lob target but that was about it. very low BBIQ

Paolo much better on offense, can attack in multiple ways and get his own shot. not the best defender, though effort is mostly there. and his BBIQ very high.

Tatum has single handedly brought his team to the NBA Finals. Knock him all you want, but I think ya'll just jealous. Dude is a superstar.

I'm not knocking him. But he isnt a defensive stopper. he gets help from the DPOY at guard and Williams and Horford in the post. He doesnt need to be that defensive stopper and they need him more on the offensive end. this wasnt a dig at Tatum but rather stating that you dont need an entire team of defensive stars to win

Yeah I don’t think I get that one either

I also don’t get the Boozer/David West comparisons

What about (healthy) Pistons Blake Griffin?

I dunno... Blake Griffin has more similarities with Josh Smith than Paolo Banchero. LOL

I also don't get the Boozer and West comparison. Those two , while undersized for their position, live in the inside. Paolo, while big actually prefers the outside. The only player recently that comes to mind is Carmelo Anthony for me.
