If I were Stan, I would treat the last two games like it was the last nfl pre-season game. Play the starters into the third quarter and then shut some guys down. At the very least, reduce Dwight and Shard's minutes significantly. We can't afford another hit on our frontcourt, especially those two, it would be devastating. With Battie and Cook out, we are super thin. Foyle, Garrity, Gortat, and Auggie are not strong enough to step up.

I would use the game time to work on some new things in practice before the playoffs, and also use that time to test the reserves. I don' think rhythm is a problem after playing 80 games at all, not for two games anyway. At this point its like riding a bike, and its not like they won't be practicing a lot too. No, practice them more, and play them less, and that goes for Hedo too.

Not for shooters.

One game of clanks from beyond the arc could be a deal breaker in an even series. Sorry, but I'd do the exact opposite, and practice less.

I'd want everyone game sharp for the opener! Especially at the beginning of the series, and especially for an unproven playoff team.

And its a very valid one, but flip it around for a moment. Lets say one of our big three get hurt? Won't we look like bone heads if we pushed them and didn't have to. Atlanta and Washington are going to be two very hard fought games. They will be nice tuneups to get ready for the playoffs, but they aren't the playoffs. Sure you need to find some rhythm, and want to see some things click, but you can still let them get into a rhythm and not play them big minutes. It doesn't have to be either or.

If im not mistaken, most of our injuries have happened in practice....

Hell, I'm a believer in fate. If it happens, it happens. Shoot, SVG has tempted fate all year.

I just think as long as a game is competitive, it's better to keep things rolling.

If it's a blowout, or the players are lethargic, then it's another story.

True, but I'm not an advocate for having balls out practices either. :D Just talking about reducing our risk of disaster is all. Not putting anyone in Armani suits, but I hope Stan shaves some minutes off our big three. The rest of the guys are a lot more interchangeable, but without any one of those three in the playoffs, this great season would have been a wasted year.

LOL, and again a very valid one. I'm a poker player, I like to play the odds. And if I can stack the deck in my favor, all the more better. Stan has a chance to reduce some risk here, he shouldn't treat it like it was March Madness imo. We won our division, locked into third place, and have hit our mark of 50 wins. Use the last two games to get smarter, not to work harder.

Also SVG's opinion. He said he wanted to keep the guys playing but was reducing practice to rest them. Compare our rate of injury in practice with that in games.

Does anybody know if they'll raise the Division Championship banner during the playoffs? Or will they wait until opening night next season?

If he ever posted here under a pseudonym, we'd be bashing him for being a ball boy.
