Can get to the rim and get his own shot. Looks to me like he can be a dominant scorer in the future. Is a capable defender. And he is only a rookie, I mean what do you expect?

How often does that happen in the NBA?

just a few examples off the top of my head.
Jamaal Crawford
JR Smith
Andre Miller
Lamar Odom

It happens more often than you think with role players; not superstars. And with the harsher lux tax penalties, salaries will be going down across the league for sure.

Actually quite a bit. Jrich just came off a 10 million a year salary and signed for 5-6 mill per year. Redick is 27 and will be 29 summer of 2013. Nobody will pay him more than the 6.5 million a year salary he got from Chicago. Especially with the new salary and luxury tax issues. Jameer will be 31 next year. He currently gets 8 mill. NO ONE will give Jameer more than the MLE if even that right now. Same with Redick. Since we have their rights we can give them decent money stretched over longer years.

Does the difference in Ryan's new salary offset whatever savings we'll get out of Jameer and JJ though?

It depends on what Ryan gets. I'd say he gets about 7-8 mil per year.

Sheed is signing with the Lakers....
ORLANDO, Fla. — There's at least one team apparently still with a need for Rasheed Wallace.

CSNNE.com has learned that the former Boston Celtic forward plans to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Wallace hasn't played in an NBA game since Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals, alerting the C's shortly before the game that he planned to retire.

Wonder what happened to McRoberts? Seems Rasheed is sort of his replacement.

Dunno if this has been posted yet or not, but it's a pretty interesting read. A national media outlet spinning Dwight's intentions of possibly STAYING???? Inconcievable!!!

There could be a 50/50 chance Dwight stays and people would rather trade him just to unload bad contracts of which most expire in 2 years. Jeez, what quitters. I would rather go for broke and achieve something great than be the franchise that people says just gives up hope and accept eternal mediocrity.

People here keep saying, look at Denver. I look at Denver and see a team fighting for the 8th spot in the playoffs for a couple more years. Fortunately, they have Nene, Magic don't have anyone at Nene's level.

It was posted and discussed 5 pages back I think. Great article that looks at both sides of the situation and gets a lot of new quotes direct from Dwight, Alex, and Otis.

I don't think people here are saying "trade Dwight so we can get rid of Turk and Duhon" they're saying, "if all else fails and we have to trade Dwight, get rid of Turk and Duhon with him." That's my take, and that's the stance I take with all most posts regarding Dwight and trades.

I initially though he was McRoberts replacement, but I guess he could replace Pau if he's got anything left in the tank and Gasol is moved. Can't help the rumors about Pau.

So, most here want to give up a sure thing and a chance at a Championship someday to be a perenial loser.

I see now why there are winners and losers in this world because losers don't fight, they give up to easily.

I guess I'm confused - which one is the sure thing again?

The trade with the Nets, the trade for Bynum (who is getting knee injections again) or letting Dwight walk for nothing at the end of the season?

If Dwight really said "Kobe asked to be traded too", that's really Dwight saying:

"Otis, for the love of god, can you for once do your damn job and get me help"

Like I've always thought it was. I think Dwight, unlike Melo/James/Bosh really wants to stay. And the people around him (excl. his agent) want him to stay too

So once again, it all comes back to Otis Smith. Please fire this man ASAP

Or maybe it's a message Dwight wants the Magic to trade for Gasol. Just like Kobe.

for those saying there's nothing jj can't do than jrich can do,

well jj can't grow 3 or so inches to match j rich, and he can't stretch his wingspan out 10 INCHES

jj's wingspan is 10 INCHES shorter than jrich's and he is a few inches shorter jrich . he may hustle harder than j rich to try to make up for it, but he will never be able to defend like he would be needed to because of that.

Will be interesting if Mavs can move salary before the 15th to make room for possible Dwight and Deron landing.

Return to Orlando Magic
