They have 3 mid 1st rounders, Lowry, and Martin to turn in to 2 top 10 picks. I think they can pull it off. Now do I want Dwight to stay, YES! But if it has gotta happen, then that is the kinda deal I would want. That or Blake Griffin and Eric Bledsoe. Henny is building a staff that is screaming build through the draft. So I would not be shocked if Dwight is traded to Houston. There is a precedent for teams gambling on a star who may or may not resign. The Nets gave away a ton for Deron and still could lose him to Dallas

If they can come up with 2 top 10 picks and 2 late lottery picks along with a veteran or 2 it's gonna be real hard to say no. I know a lot of people don't want to rebuild and I don't really either but think how awesome it would be to start over with a clean slate and a lot of youth with a lot of talent in this draft

Before they even pick up the phone to make a proposal they better have at least two top 10 picks. If they can land 5 and 10, that's where Drummond and Rivers are projected to go respectively. So there's your center and point guard of the future right there.

Hennigan had a plan coming here, presented to Martins and the DeVos. It's the reason they hired him.

Houston knows this, and I'm sure Martins told the come calling.

Sorry Magic Kingdom, but if Houston flips those to lottery picks, they either really love Drummond, or Dwight may be on his way out.

Two top 10 picks, and a third in the top 15, plus salary caf relief is a good place to start.

They'll flip those picks for a higher pick, plus if they end up dealing Lowry for 5 then this forum is going to explode. They either really love Drummond, or Dwight is getting dealt. And with DA throwing out that Dwight won't resign in Houston, I have a feel Dwight's camp tried to send out a message, and Hennigan nor Morey really give a poop.

Rivers is not a gotdamn pg! This kid is an undersized sg with zero ability or desire to pass the ball. I can't believe with all the BITCHING and moaning going on last year about the lack of a "pass first pg" that people would want Austin Rivers to run the point. He's the anti pass first pg and personally way overrated.

It's the same old thing - hate what you have, love what you don't.

But I'm glad you pointed this out - Rivers is way overvalued on this board lately.

Remeber the Chris Sherridan Report awhile back that said the Magic have decided to trade Dwight? Then OS disputed that per a Magic source? I really think that was the case, Martins knew Dwight wanted out, so he is now willing to trade him. Then he hired a guy that would build the team through the draft. Its pretty simple. I feel its all but over now......

Hardly over, the fun is just starting. IF Dwight extends, we have a GM willing and capable of building around him. If he won't extend, we have a GM willing and capable of dealing him for a package that doesn't suck.

Either way, it will be an interesting summer.

Houston seems hell bent on getting Howard, and they don't care if he signs long term with them next summer.

Now Hennigan has all the leverage. I'd love to see that conversation between him and Dwight. "Sign this extension or we trade you to Houston and you'll play on one of the worst teams in the NBA next season."

We'll see who blinks first. I hope Dwight likes playing for a last-place Houston team next season. He's going to get what he finally deserves. He purposely hijacked our season last year, and now he's going to play for a last-place ballclub if this trade happens.

Looks like the basketball gods are smiling down on Orlando for once.

So how about this. Houston trades Lowry to Sacramento for the 5th pick. They then trade their 15th and 18th picks for Toronto's 8th pick. They then trade us the 5th, 8th, and 14th picks in the draft.

We then draft Drummond, Rivers and Marshall.

Happy days!

If you're Toronto, you would give up your 8th pick for the 15th and 18th?

Im in on this although I would rather have PJ3 instead of rivers while keeping JJ and BBD play pj3 at the sf spot and dump JRich and Hedo with Dwight on Houston.

Marshall/Ish/Duhon/?
JJ/Martin
PJ3/Parsons
BBD/PJ3
Drummond/Dalembert

*edit I may take Harkless instead of PJ3 to play sf

One more year of Dwight is better then all the draft picks houston could get their hands on.
Period, end of story.

To those who claim Dwight would not sign an extension because he loses his extra year:

Why can't he verbally commit?

I am very, very, curious as to what Houston is cooking up. Could they be making a run at Deron Williams/Eric Gordon if they get Dwight? Or this could all be for Drummond.

But I'm not so sure that it is coincidence that Houston is stockpiling picks suddenly once we get a GM who is known for building through the draft.

I would be willing to send out Jameer or JJ ( :( ) if it means we get a top 10 pick, Lowry, and the rest of the picks back.

If Dwight will not verbally commit and you can dump Duhon/J-Rich on them, you pull the trigger. I'm not so sure they would want Hedo if they are trying to make a splash in FA this year.

That story is a childrens book. I'll stick to my adult novels (or comics lololol)
