The only thing happens is he will play a 4 year deal instead of a 5 year then he will either extend or sign a new contract, its not like he wont get paid the season after his 4 year deal.

The only thing he will lose for walking is instead of a 7.5% pay raise he would get a 4.5% raise. That is around 4 to 5 million for the 4 year deal. He can make that up just off being with a new fan base wanting his products.

Think about it like this, A player can have a 15 year career, no matter how his contracts breakdown by years it still will be a 15 year career

Who knows what will happen with his back situation? And as far as his fan base wanting his products, Howard and Fegan have been steadily dwindling his fan base with their childish antics. So I think that 6th year would give him pause about leaving it on the table. My grandson's Dwight Howard shirt went out with the garbage yesterday. And there was a time when hr used to sleep in it. I have friends and relatives around the country who I have talked to and everyone of them think Howard is behaving like a child and most of them would not want him on their team. Now that attitude could certainly change if Howard did become a part of their team but there is not a lot of love for Howard outside of some people in the Orlando area.

So from what i've read in this thread so far(tweets) Rob has a plan but it took longer than the Rockets would have hoped for....but they still want Dwight regardless of what he says so they will revisit negotiations at a later date.....so i guess things are going to get REAAAAALLLLL quiet around here for the next few weeks or so.....unless Dwight's camp says something else to try to smear the magic and dwindle his own fanbase.......

Rob Hennigan told Rockets he wasn't ready to trade Dwight yet, so they basically moved on and said they'd try again in a month

Sources close to Magic think Rob will attempt to please Dwight first. Some think he's stupid, others think it's a risk worth taking.

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
Dwight apparently brought up the names Josh Smith and Stephen Jackson in the recent meeting as players they said they'd get but never did

I can't believe that! Why would Hennigan care about "pleasing" Howard at this point? Especially at the expense of the franchise? This smells like Fegan again. At least I hope it is. Because if Henny is worried about pleasing Howard, we are in deep trouble.

You know, I do not think Howard has winning as a priority anyway. I think his first priority was endorsement money. Winning a championship is not his number 1 priority. At least it doesn't seem to be.
He wants to be "the go-to-guy." Well it appears he wants to go to the Lakers now. He WILL NOT be the "go-to-guy" there. Where as he could be that guy in Houston. He doesn't seem to me to be interested in "leading" a team to a championship. He seems to be more interested in going to a team where he can "follow" that team to a title.

Vecsey gets deep in the scotch at night and hits twitter. It's usually the best Friday/Saturday.

This. You think Jarrod is over sensitive? Wait till you call out Peter Vecsey on the most minor of things. I called him out when he didn't know who was coaching our summer league team. I believe he tweeted something a long the lines of "Do the magic even have a coach for the summer league?".

I told him to google it, and he responded with the following:

@PeterVecsey1
@arsenal6106 Ahem, no, dummy, it just shows what a halfwit you are....

He was backtracking by saying he was being sarcastic. I personally didn't buy that excuse.

A couple tweets later I believe he bashes Devos for signing Hennigan.

@PeterVecsey1 You really don't like Hennigan, do you?

Peter Vecsey
@arsenal6106 I like him a lot better than your dumb ass

And THEN he blocks me.
This was all a few weeks back.

I believe he and Barkley didn't get along, that's why he left TNT.

Vescey is sarcastic, most likely drunk, and extremely agile on twitter considering his age and he gets off on messing around with people.

"@AQS18:When do you see this getting resolved?" I see it done in Sept. Remember, time still on Magic side. Will be HOU rental or LA/HOU 3way

Vescey is a huge douche and probably the most unprofessional jackass for an alleged national reporter I have seen. No wonder he isnt affiliated with anyone or on tv any longer. he has turned into an uninformed hack (it is being kind to assume he ever was informed)

He will argue his wrong reports till blue in the face and when he finally finds out he is wrong he blows it off like he knew all along.

He argued that his "guy" said that every other reporter was wrong and Lopez could be traded on Dec 15. I told him he was wrong and linked him directly to Larry Coons salary cap faqs and the appropriate section and he still held firm.

I know there is a huge irrational hatred on here for jarrod but vescey started this fight. Don't follow him as it only encourages his idiocy and you will be ill informed by anything he says.
