so basically this is it for now? no more pre-season trades? as of now don't we have more guys than we should? so if we're not trading anymore who's getting cut or bought out?

i think we have 17, need to get down to 15, salary wise, eyenga and harper make the most sense, mcroberts and Q are options to be bought out..O'Quinn will be fighting to make the team or sent to the D-league, moore's contract is partially guaranteed on both years (reportedly) but i think he makes the team since we have no 3rd string point guard, which is probably hennigans plan

O'Quinn is guaranteed for this year, partially guaranteed next year and the next.

He can still be sent to the D-league, or cut

He won't be cut, he might go to the D-League, but I doubt it.

I really think we trade Q and try to trade Harper. If no takers for Harper, we cut him. McRoberts will also be traded.

How many total players can be on a NBA team roster? Like 14 to 15?

mcroberts is as good as gone. I can see him going for a 2nd.
As for the others, I am not so sure about. I'd be happy seeing harper or harington go. No big losses there.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVI
Vucevic/KO
BBD/Nicholson/McRob/Harrington/Harper
Harkless/Eyenga/Q/Turk
Afflalo/JJ/Liggins
Jameer/Ish/Moore
we've got several older veterans that we really don't need. Harrington, Q and Turk are all overpaid for what they bring now, and i no matter how good an influence they are on young guys there's no justification for keeping all 3 and taking time away from our young guys.
i can't see us trading Harrington, because it will cost us to get rid of him.
i can't see us trading Turk, either, unless a team like the Spurs wants to swap him for Jackson.
if we're stuck with Turk for a season, i don't see the need for keeping Q, apart from the fact he's a hard worker and is a better influence on the kids than Turk. i don't see us being able to find someone to take him for an expiring, though.
Harper hasn't shown enough to warrant keeping him around, and without Howard he's less of a priority.
McRoberts is a good hustle guy, but he's not much more than that. i could see the team preferring to invest time in developing Nicholson and KO instead.
odd men out - Harper and McBob.

i believe so.....probably what will happen is training camp will start and then we will cut the fat there so to speak.....either bought out or straight up cut from the roster.....

15 total on the roster by start of regular season, and I'm pretty sure only 13 are allowed to be active on any given night.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVI
A team must have 12 players on its active roster, but it is allowed to drop to 11 for a maximum of two weeks at a time. Eight players must suit up for every game. Any remaining players are placed in the Inactive List, and cannot play in games. Teams are required to have at least one player and a maximum of three on the Inactive List; this can drop to zero for up to two weeks at a time, and can temporarily be four with league approval in hardship cases. The Inactive List can change up to 60 minutes before opening tip by informing the official scorer of the game. A player can be inactive for as little as one game.[2] Players sent to the NBA Development League will continue to count on a team’s inactive list.[3][4] While individual teams must carry a minimum of 13 players (12 active plus one inactive), the NBA guarantees a league-wide average of at least 14 players per team. The league is surcharged if they do not meet the average.[2]
From wikipedia, so I'm not sure it's 100% valid.

I read somewhere they either agreed at the end of last season or were planning to agree to moving the active roster to 13, but I haven't looked that hard into it.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVI
Am I the only one who thinks it would be terrible if Glen davis is our starting pf?
his numbers a center were much better and he played much better when dwight went down and he was our full time C.
Per 48 numbers for glen last year:
At pf - 14.6/9.9 at 36.5% from the field
At center - 22.9/12.3 at 46.3%(still pretty bad for a big man) from the field

He's just not that good of a basketball player. Hustle is one thing, but unless he gets a better shot or somehow becomes more athletic, we need to convince him that he is not a scorer. If we can sucker someone into taking him for second rounders I will be happy.

is per48 meaning 48 minutes? which he would never play.
And much of his PF time throughout the year was when his head wasnt on straight after dealing with 2 family member deaths
