I simply dont believe Ford. I think he twists a lot of the info he gets into something that isnt there.

gotta be.

What was this talk of the #7 and Nash from the Lakers?
Maybe we are going after some of the second tier FAs like Lowry.

Things will be clear in less than eight hours but i wish i knew NOW.

I'm guessing the offers of Afflalo for a lottery pick weren't legitimate. He would be worth a lottery pick if he had more years left on his current bargain contract, but the fact is he's a one-year rental who may get overpaid next summer. I wasn't expecting too much, considering what the Bulls got for Deng. Henny took the JJ-Tobias route and traded for an underused young player with potential.

Good, level-headed first post! Welcome to the board.

I know. I wish we could ban any postings of his drivel, along with the sauces of Broussard.

Well, that was a surprise who we went for...

My guess is that 2 years ago we worked out Evan Fronier and liked him.

And one of our targets this year is to look for a backup combo guard and worked out some players outside the top 10 picks range.

We compared Evan to the players that we worked out and Rob believed Evan is still better than any of those guys he worked out so he went for it.

I trust Rob.

The only player I saw that might be better than Evan Fronier is Nik Stauskas.
However I believe he will be a 10 top so it was not reachable.

I really like what I see in Evan Fronier, he was under the radar, didn't know who he was till now... he is crafty. He reminds me of Marco Belinelli of the Spurs. But has more bounce, speed and handling.

It is just us, its everybody who writes and talks about basketball, its the rumours that say we turned down a deal for the ninth pick or that we are packaging him for the first pick, national sports writers saying afflalo is a top 4 sg etc etc, it isn't like, oh wow, this board is overrating afflalo

So because other people are saying that it makes it true? Not to mention none of those people are even affiliated with actual NBA teams. If we could have gotten the 8th pick we would have. Or do you think Rob just took a worse deal on purpose?

Nobody knows what deals were on the table, but you'd be lying if you said you weren't disappointed in light of all the rumours of better deals being out there. If this is the best thing on the table we might've been better suited waiting til the trade deadline. People can say this adds flexibility, but now if we are in trade talks with a team that wants a vet, we don't have anybody good to throw into the trade

I'm not disappointed. Fournier is a 21 year old that has shown flashes who is good enough to be a late lotto pick in this draft. I also don't let myself get excited over twitter rumors.

media killed him for the Howard trade...he has a plan and its a long game with a much wider scope and lifespan than a media tweet

sure but could you imagine how hot his seat would be right now if Vuc ended up being some bum and the Knicks pick was in the late 20's.

not as hot as if he had taken the Bynum deal that the media was begging for....Henny earned my respect with that move and when media cried and laughed at the JJ for Tobias trade....media loudmouth's don't affect his decision making #true leader

Don't get me wrong, I applaud him for it BUT the media would have been MUCH louder if the real trade was a dud compared to just taking Bynum IMO. That said, I trust the guy, so we'll see what happens.

Orlando will absorb a big contract, give away Jameer, and will probably acquire another lottery pick in the process. Relax everyone

No because Chad actually has league relationships while Magical's sources are ticket reps.

The kid seemed to really love Denver, kind of feel bad now. I'm sure he'll eventually come to love Orlando as well though.

Well what were you expecting for afflalo if you don't put any stock in rumours?
