2023 — Owed a first-rounder (two years after the 2021 obligation to the Orland Magic, top-4 protected in 2023, top-3 in 2024, otherwise converts to 2026 and 2027 second-rounders) from the Chicago Bulls (Nikola Vucevic).

So go ahead and tank Chicago!

That's kinda awful. There's a scenario where the Magic only 2nd round picks? That's so bad. I know the odds are low, but still. The fact that there's a scenario where the Magic only get 2nd round picks is kind of off putting.

You are forgetting, with our front office we can turn those seconds into 12 million $$$ we are rich!

Who's to say the Bulls don't win the lottery this year and then either Lavine or Vucevic tears an ACL next season that drops them to a bottom 3 team?

Yeah cmon... anyone thinks that CHI is going toe-to-toe with us, HOU,MIN in the tank wars ia deluding themselves. They are fighting for a PO spot. Thus, I believe our CHI pick will be in the 10-15 range. Im not greedy to think its in the 5-9 range

Idk guys, I'm seeing some really winnable games left on this schedule. Did we really take much of a step back? I think 6/7th best odds are still in play for us.

Clifford is going to squeeze every single thing that's left out of this roster.

I dunno man. On paper there's truly only like 7 winnable games left on the schedule and I can't imagine they're going to win all of them.

I am not overreacting to them keeping it respectable against the Blazers without Lillard and the Lakers without LeBron and Davis.

I don't want to either, but at this moment, I see more than 7 potential wins. The home games against Indiana/Washington are winnable games imo.

Then you have games like @Tor, Home vs the Spurs, @Chicago, home vs. Houston, Home vs. New Orleans, @ Clevland, Indiana at home, home vs. Boston, && home vs Minny which are all potentially competitive winnable games imo. && there will surely be a fluke win or two outside of the games listed down the stretch where a good team will sit their star and we could eek something out.

7th best odds is probably an overreaction but if Harris comes back, I still worry about getting top 5 odds. OKC/Cavs are nosediving to the bottom after the Horford/Drummond moves.

FiveThirtyEight has us at 24 projected wins atm, which suggests that there are 9 wins left somewhere on this schedule. We will see.

i'm not sure about these games....we usually lose against well coached teams or teams with superior talent than ours

There are only games 5 remaining games I would consider really winnable, as in Magic will probably be favored to win betting wise.

Wizards at home, Rockets at home, at Cavs, at Pistons, Wolves at home.

There are some other games the Magic could and maybe will win, but they're going to be underdogs in every other game IMO.

Worst case scenario to me is like 7 more wins. I still think there's a scenario where they win 5 or less.

Does RJ's development shape our draft pick?
IF we were to get this 1st pick, I think Cade is the choice.
BUT, if we get 2-4, how much does RJ's development shape the choice?

I think it comes down to Green vs. Mobley.

Toronto sat Lowry yesterday and also it appeared like the trades they made were to make them worse. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't sit VanVleet soon and have Flynn be the starter.

no one on this roster dictates who draft/avoid. NO ONE.

I keep changing my mind.

Re-watching some Kuminga highlights post trade deadline has me higher on him than I was a few days ago. He really is going to make someone very happy.

I really don’t think I can decide. We need everything now.

Just give me one of those 5 and I’m happy. Just don’t let us fall out of the top 5 please!!

would you rather have #1 pick and no chi pick (they also move up) or #4 AND Chi pick (9)?

Easily the #1 pick. We need to get whoever we think is the best in this draft. Not hope that someone falls to us.

RJ's development shapes things 0%.

The Magic need to take the best player on the board regardless of position.

Hampton, Anthony, Okeke, Bamba, WCJ - hell even Fultz and Isaac, these guys *might* end up good starters on playoff caliber teams, but they also might not end up as much of anything.

Take the BPA and worry about fit later.

I was just fiddling around with the tankathon and got this exact scenario.

I guess I would rather have Cade Cunningham right now. Best case scenario, Bulls drop games, move down to 6th best odds, only movement is above them and we get #1 and #6. :D :D :D

There is a 0.001% of anyone on this roster becoming a star.

Even if someone beats the odds, so many of our current players can play multiple positions so there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to have any discussion at all about FIT going into this draft.

I sing this tune every year, even when we had Vuc and Evan and AG. I had some fun arguments over BPA vs. Fit as a draft strategy. Surely we can all agree this year that BPA is the way to go, right!!??

#1 pick and kick the Chicago pick to 2022 over 4 and 9.

No

We are a bottom feeder, rebuilding team, no current superstars on the team. you take the best player available regardless of who is on the roster
