I don`t understand why ownership is so lenient with Otis?

This is the guy who made ownership pay 60 millions to his son.

More than one source in Orlando points to the very limited options Dwight has to "walk away"- the franchise is not actively exploring trades

this can't be true?

I'll bet they are going to call his bluff. They will still sell seats as long as he is here, I think management is going to wait for him to walk (It's worth the risk imo)- that is a ton of money he is leaving on the table if he signs outright..

if you are the clippers, and it looks like gordon+minny 1st gets you CP3- do you then potentially deal Blake+Jordan+Kaman's expiring for Dwight+Hedo to pair the two super duper stars in LA?

cuz i say yes to that in before my heart beats

You really think the Clippers are going to move Blake?

We could try to call his bluff and see if he will leave 40 mil or whatever to walk away. LOL

If we're going to keep him we sure as hell better find him better help than Big Baby. Nelson is not the answer at PG either without another co-star on the team.

You people need to understand that Dwight is not necessarily after STARS. Sure, he has friends he'd like who are big and would probably help here BUT his #1 goal is getting tough guys who want to win titles with the skill to back it up.

If I were the Clippers, I'd have to really check if i prefer Blake+CP3 or Dwight+CP3 - of course if i'm donald sterling, no way i do that, but the real donald sterling likes "beautiful black bodies" and i'm pretty sure that dwight tops that particular list

They've been pretty open about it, so yeah, could be true.

thats why the mavs are interested in preserving cap space.

I'd rather follow that path than copy the Diva's

I don't know why more Magic fans don't look at this situation. How many years did Dallas lose in the first round? How many busts and bad contracts (Brendan Haywood) did they take on before finally getting the ring? Some people, Dwight apparently included, think that you can build a championship team overnight. If Dwight says, "I want CP3, Monta Ellis, and Josh Smith. That should help." Does anyone not see how impossible that is?

And everyone complains about Otis blowing up the Finals roster from '09. How many players were on Dallas' roster last year from the '06 Finals team? Two. Dirk and Terry.

I guess my point is, and it's frustrating that others don't see it, is that building a championship team takes years of trial and error mixing and matching pieces to see what fits. Everyone acts like the Magic have been a mediocre team with no talent aside from Dwight for the past few years when in fact they've been a consistent top team in the NBA since '08.

If we want to keep Howard what we need is defensive players, Nelson, Jason Richardson, Hedo, Anderson suck. The amount of blown coverages is astounding.

Hmm. Who was that who said the FO was in turmoil that day and it was "keep him vs. trade him" debate going on. Maybe Otis isn't being fired because ownership won and he is not trading him at their request. Doesn't make sense. They have made it clear they won't trade him for scraps, but no team has came with a better offer, so here we are.

time heals all wounds. if the magic start playing like their careers are on the line, things can change. Jameer and Jrich alone easily have another level to tap into. I would hope an overwhelming majority of fans will cheer for dwight at games while he's here, we need to continue to show the league and players that we are a good nba city.

Its much easier for him to "just walk" if the fans boo, but if we're cheering our tails off then he'd become a villain especially with us hosting the all star game.
