Several of the potential GM candidates in Orlando have already been devising trade scenarios for Howard and plan to propose those ideas to Orlando president Alex Martins in the interview process.

REALLY? That would be the worst trade of all-time.

Honestly i would do the Cavs trade

Magic get : Varejao, 2012 pick Cavs pick, Thompson
Lakers get : Howard
Cavs get : Hedo, Bynum

and add fillers

Out of all the proposed deals I'd do this one out of all of them.

i cant wait for a new GM+coach to be here and have D12 gone, so we can start again from fresh

i have enough od D12 uncommitment and also i wouldnt want to risk him to turn into Grant hill or Grandma larry johnson

without his athletic abilities, D12 wont be great, best ship him ASAP for someone WHO TRULY want to be HERE

Agreed RT @stevekylerNBA RT @PFlynn33: it sounds like its been determined that d12 will be traded. --> Not what I have heard at all.

Don't listen to all the rumors u here. I don't think nothing has been determined from both sides either

I'm still holding to the "Dwight rescinded his trade request, waived his ETO, and can get the most money in Orlando = Orlando has great odds at keeping him" line.

Adrian Wojnarowski was dead wrong about the Dwight affair last season and honestly I don't think much has changed, except that we are making moves that make it more likely we keep Dwight than otherwise.

Still, interesting take from the man, who is quite influential in crafting NBA narratives.

Let's also not forget that Woj is based out of NY/NJ.

dwight is just sitting back watching the moves orlando makes imo. if he likes our gm and new head coach, and especially if deron leaves Brooklyn we are in good shape.

Brooklyn will be sweating tonight thats for sure. Without a top 3 pick their offer will not get dwight and deron will walk.

Did anyone catch Stephen A on First Take this morning on the lottery? Lol he basically confessed that he hopes Brooklyn gets the top pick so that they can keep D-Will, get Anthony Davis, and get Dwight too because he "loves the 5 boroughs" even though he's from Queens.

Rob Parker ‏@RobParkerESPN
Just a gut feeling. The Nets will get the first pick. The new arena in Brooklyn opens next season. It's a stunner. They need a star there.

I think a lot of people are pulling for this.

I think Dwight will still get traded and I'm not going by what the media says. Just my intuition.

Obviously we cannot nearly match the marketability of the Brooklyn Nets.

Talent wise, we have not improved at all.

Why would Dwight change his mind? Not to mention IMO, it is foolish to think his mind is not already made up. LBJ didn't make his decision the summer of his FA, neither will Dwight.

If he is just staying in Orlando for the money, why wouldn't he atleast verbally commit? There will be no bidding war for him because whomever signs him will sign him for the max, guaranteed.

I guess I am just a pessimist...but it's okay because it will make it that much sweeter and surprising for me if Dwight resigns

Why are people pulling for the Nets? It's not like they're not going to sell tickets. The arena is amazing, great location, and the amount of people in the reach of the stadium is stunning.

I'm with you. I don't think we keep him. There's not much reason for me to believe he would want to stay here.

But this is Dwight Howard we're talking about. The guy has a pretty big heart and who knows what can happen. I'd say it's 70/30 he goes right now. But I'm waiting for the front office GM to at least try to make moves to give Dwight a reason to stay. Seems difficult, but I'm deluded by hopeless hope as a fan.

After 1 minute you escape the boredom of the defensive clips (seems to have good d) and gets some offensive moves.

How exactly are we to improve when we don't have a GM, coach, or had a chance to draft, trade or sign free agents?

I think the NY media would love nothing more than to cover a relevant team with star power like D-Will and Dwight and even Anthony Davis. IT

Many have speculated that Larry Bird would retire following the 11-12 season, but the chances of that appear to be decreasing.

"Bird definitely sounds like a person who plans to return as long as he and owner Herb Simon remain on the same page," wrote Mike Wells on Twitter, who covers the Pacers for the Indy Star.

Money won't be a factor in Bird's decision, according to Wells. Bird took a paycut from $5 million annually to $1 million this season.

Bird was the recipient of the 2012 NBA Executive of the Year award.

If Bird stays in Indy, that may make Pritchard more available, and mean Walsh wouldn't be going back to Indy.
