He also needs a more consistent mid range jumper. I'm not saying he needs to be Jordan or Kobe, but he needs to make at least half of his open jumpers consistently.

Mid-range J is one of the most difficult shots to make in the NBA.

Right, but he clearly lacks range, so he can't shoot threes and his defenders won't respect him there. So I say he needs to add the occasional jumper that he can use to free up some space for himself to get to the basket.

If he adds a respectable jumper he can free himself up to do other things. He only needs to make one or two a game. It's not like anyone is going to ask him to jack up shots.

Actually his mid range J is not bad. http://stats.nba.com/playerShotchart.ht ... hots=false

He shot it pretty well for a player with sporadic minutes and his form actually looks pretty nice.

It would be easier to add a 3pt shot then long two's.

Not necessarily most difficult. Just least efficient, and therefore bad.

Did you forget why we(the magic) wanted price? lol

I'd take Lamb over Myck any day anyways. Price is there to teach the younger guys and be a locker room presence.

Yeah it doesn't matter who it is, Price or Mych, neither of them will play at all unless there are a lot of injuries. So might as well have the veteran presence to help teach the young guys. Not every guy on the team needs to be young, nor should they be. Price's leadership could become even more important too if the Magic do end up shipping away some of the older guys at the trade deadline.

Veteran presence? That's what Jameer is for. If we just wanted an old guy who would not add anything on the court for cheap, why not just sign another coach? Price would have to the offspring of Mother Teresa and Ghandi for his locker room presence to matter that much. I say the same thing every year the Heat give juwan Howard a spot instead of taking a chance on an unknown guy who could help them on the boards. Teams just seem to like gambling on guaranteed non-fiction rather than making their scouting departments earn their checks.

So Rockets tonight. Supposedly on NBAtv. No local coverage. So...can this be the first game I can watch on my actual TV? Or is there some inexplicable blackout again?

Dear god could this be the day....

Anyone who understands blackout restrictions know if we'll be able to watch?

There was no local coverage last time it was on NBA TV either and it was still blacked out... the good news is there will probably be a good quality stream since we're facing the Rockets and there should be a replay on NBA TV the next day.

Yeah that was home vs Cleveland.

There had to have been some type of local broadcast that maybe just most of us didn't get through our cable. Right? Isn't that how blackouts work?!

Sometimes they blackout games to encourage people to go to the game. I know the Bucs do that a lot if it's not a sellout. Not sure if that's what happened vs. Cleveland or not, however.

It better be on NBA tv, these blackout games really annoy the hell out of me.

On another note I really would like to have Corey Maggette as a vet presence here if he would come back, he is very highly praised for working with young players and well know as being very smart and may go into coaching/.

Why not just hire him as a coach?

WT: The Philadelphia 76ers signed free agent center Daniel Orton and waived center Tim Ohlbrecht, the team announced Wednesday.
