I mean if Liggins and Harper can develop well, then Magic would have such a solid young team for years..
Until Westbrook bolts for LA

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
I'm falling in love with the Timberwolves assets all of a sudden.
Three team
Nets send out Brook Lopez, Marshon Brooks, 3 first round picks (one houston)
Get Dwight Howard, Chris Duhon
Timberwolves send out Derek Williams, Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph
Get Brook Lopez, 2 NJ 1st round picks, Hedo Turkoglu, JJ Reddick (And or Ryno)
Magic send out Chris Duhon, JJ Reddick (And or Ryno), Hedo Turkoglu, Dwight Howard
Get Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph, Derek Williams, Marshon Brooks, Houston 1st rounder.
Leave us with
PG Jameer/Hughes
SG JRICH/Brooks/Liggens
SF DWilliams/Harper
PF Glen Davis/Randolph/
C Kevin Love/Clark/Orton

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
It appears second-year C Daniel Orton will receive another redshirt season, in effect.
Van Gundy said after practice that Orton looks trim and mobile, but he hasn't played a lot of basketball while dealing with a left-knee injury he sustained in high school. Orton played one year at Kentucky before the Magic drafted him.
I figured this and don't see it as a concern as far as Orton's development, he's so young, but we're not seriously going to go into a 2nd season without a backup center, are we?

Oi banging head with that Orton pick. But Stan didn't let JJ play for two seasons. It took Bass into year 2 to earn PT. I'm sure if Dwight was with stan rookie season, he'd be sitting learning from Battie.

Otis will out-do himself by going into a season without ANY centers.
side note: I just watched Chris Paul conference & Blake G. interview....man, Clipps fans are lucky. Great PG and wonderful talent in BG. Blake is also genuinely funny.

Give them Ryno instead of Reddick? I think Lopez and Hedo are a better fit for Rubio then anything they currently have.

``I’m a lot more encouraged after watching our team practice because we have a good team and a really deep team,’’ Smith said. ``We’re better right now than I anticipated because we’re deeper at a lot of positions. Maybe we’re not deep behind Dwight, but I like our team, I like the energy and I like the way that we’re playing already.’’

He likes this team. So that means a trade will soon follow!

The belief now is that with Richardson, Redick and Wafer at shooting guard and a big man rotation of Howard, Davis and Ryan Anderson, the Magic have enough depth and firepower to challenge Miami and Chicago – the finalists in the Eastern Conference last season. Jameer Nelson is still a tough-minded play-making force, and the Magic have the right mix of veterans and youth on the bench to help the team make another deep run in the playoffs.

FYI... Part IX will be done/posted by one of the Mods (MagicMadness, FFBlitzace, eyriq, damo[23], Howard Mass, SS_MagicMark). I won't be on this forum for a week or so that much... I'm going to be away for the holidays for a bit.

Maybe this is why Dwight wants out. Management overrate it's own players? We'll see how deep this team really is.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
i like the moves otis has made this offseason. A 4 year deal for jrich might of been a bit much but i think it was the right move bringing him back. He was the best available shooting guard for us. Also i believe as long as dwight is here then big baby will be a good fit. Wafer is probably the fastest guy on the team.
That said i would love to get a larger playmaking point gaurd to take pressure off meer and get dwight a freakin backup already. I think we are one good trade away from getting to where we want to be.

yeah, we overrate everyone except the 1 player that deserves to be overrated in trades.
Lopez & Wallace
