Obviously we cannot nearly match the marketability of the Brooklyn Nets.

Talent wise, we have not improved at all.

Why would Dwight change his mind? Not to mention IMO, it is foolish to think his mind is not already made up. LBJ didn't make his decision the summer of his FA, neither will Dwight.

If he is just staying in Orlando for the money, why wouldn't he atleast verbally commit? There will be no bidding war for him because whomever signs him will sign him for the max, guaranteed.

I guess I am just a pessimist...but it's okay because it will make it that much sweeter and surprising for me if Dwight resigns

How exactly are we to improve when we don't have a GM, coach, or had a chance to draft, trade or sign free agents?

Um.... ya know since Dwight's trade request came out about half a year ago....yeah

Unless the trade deadline began before last season started, am I missing something?

im hoping they get the 4th pick. would serve them right for trying to steal our superstar.

I have a hard time believing AWoj when his work is about D12. From what I hear, he is a huge Nets homer. Also, I find it funny that all of this info is being released on the day of the lottery.

Btw, we have 15 pages left till the next part. I don't mind putting it up, but I'm hitting the gym in the next 30 mins so I might not be here once it hits 100?
Any takers?

I'm a bit conflicted on how to feel about this. More than anything, I hope we just keep Dwight and the Nets don't get a top 3 pick. But if Dwight going is a forgone conclusion, I hope they win this thing. Pretty conflicted.

Am I the only one who thinks Anthony Davis is the second coming of Tyrus Thomas?

I'll take Drummond over him any day.

Many have speculated that Larry Bird would retire following the 11-12 season, but the chances of that appear to be decreasing.

"Bird definitely sounds like a person who plans to return as long as he and owner Herb Simon remain on the same page," wrote Mike Wells on Twitter, who covers the Pacers for the Indy Star.

Money won't be a factor in Bird's decision, according to Wells. Bird took a paycut from $5 million annually to $1 million this season.

Bird was the recipient of the 2012 NBA Executive of the Year award.

If Bird stays in Indy, that may make Pritchard more available, and mean Walsh wouldn't be going back to Indy.
If Bird stays, I think we get Walsh as VP and either Weaver/Lindsey/Prichard as GM. They'll both collaborate to choose a coach and we'll re-hire SVG.

Bobcats contacted Stan Van Gundy about their head coaching position, but were told by SVG that he may take next season off, sources say.

Interesting and not surprising. Though I'm sure if a better job than the Bobcats arose, as in the Blazers after they reap a bounty of great picks tonight, he'll be willing to come back sooner rather than later.

Is it possible for the Magic to acquire the 1st pick and trade it again for like the 2nd or 3rd, NFL style? I think if the stars aligned and we got the 1 from NJ it'd be worth thinking of a trade to a team in the 2,3,4,5 slot and get other players/picks in addition to that.

No not really. I think he's similarly raw offensively but what people forget to take into consideration is what's between the ears. Someone could have all the athleticism in the world but if they don't put the work into improving then that person can fail. We've seen a number of those cases tyrus being one of them, but just because they're similar from an athletic standpoint doesn't mean the outcome is going to be the same.

I hope Shaw doesn't accept the Bobcats' gig before the Magic even get started on their HC search. I know you can't rush an important decision like GM, but we wasted two weeks just deciding to fire two guys who were obviously out the door anyways.

If the Bobcats get the #1 overall pick, it'll be a tough offer for Shaw to turn down.
