Saying EP is the "best" player on this team in January has little value considering we are genuinely terrible. I don't mind him being our starter in the future IF we can surround him with enough talent to win against the top teams.

That's sort of my point though. It doesn't matter how well he's playing (and getting other people involved) if our team is just bad and certain lineups will throw away leads. I'm just saying that it's not like he has only played well in March, it's just when he gets triple doubles. And I think this year in particular it has to do with the ball being in his hands more and the pace being quicker compared to the slow/awful offense we ran when Ibaka was here.

I definitely think he is thriving in a quicker, less lane clogged offense. I don't think EP is part of the problem on this team and I also don't think he's the answer. I'm hoping he can continue this level of play into next season, while we look to add more talent to this roster.

Also 3 were against playoff teams... (Blazers 2 years ago, Dallas 2 years ago, Detroit 1 year ago), 2 of them are against teams fighting for the playoffs (Chicago and Detroit this year) .. 2 of them against tanking teams (Kings, Knicks). And we went 3-4.

If we really want to be specific and not just throw a random statement out there.

I stand corrected, shouldn't have put blank statement about tanking teams in there. Nevertheless point stands, we've seen this every season in March, while no triple doubles have ever been accomplished when games mattered.

Pisses me off to be a fan of such an incompetent team. We have nothing to cheer for except losing and can't even do that right. They are robbing us of having hope for the future.

Westbrook - 5-0
Payton - 2-2
LeBron - 2-2
Harden 3-1

Standard of competition fluctuates for each player. Westbrook has done it against a lot of good teams, LeBron has done it to Detroit twice, us once and Boston the other time. Harden did it against Cleveland, Lakers, Pelicans and Denver. Elf against NYK, CHI, SAC and DET. So Elf's beating up weaker teams. Still, he's keeping company with some pretty solid names right now.

Yeah, I'd love a Fultz or Ball or Jackson or whoever, but we've already got some prospects who are starting to find a groove.

The truth is, the NBA takes time to adjust to, especially coming from the sunbelt conference (I believe that's where Elf came from--correct me on that).

The PG position is one of the most difficult to adjust to in the league, and takes considerable time.

If we drafted one of the above named, I'm positive our board would be calling for their heads if they weren't in All-Star talks by year 2.

We need to be patient with a lot of our guys, who are in year 2 or 3. Some of our guys are what they will be, but I believe a lot of fellas have room to grow and appear to be trending upward as far as skill refinement.

There was a report the other day saying coach told him to get used to his playtime decreasing drastically down the stretch. He'll play here and there I suppose but it sounds like he will essentially be shut down for the most part

Not anymore or less than it sucks to be a magic fan in your every day life. Yo woman flock to that magic blue and 5 year worst franchise win/loss ratio. But I'm married so not everything is lost. I also built a gaming pc over the last two months and got back into gaming, so I'm not always losing by way of being a magic fan!

Things are bad right now but let's not jump off the ledge. There no reason we shouldn't be able to lose the next 3. The Toronto game is a little scary I'll admit. If we lose the next 3 we are right back where we need to be. It be nice if we can at least split with the nets. I'm not giving up but it's quite sad how clueless our front office is as we watch the other teams tank while we do nothing to push our tank forward.

Constant repetition of this tanking builds a losing culture from the media, front office, players, coaches, GM is just sickening.
