Somebody call Otis and propose :p

Cj is an ufa so he can't be included in a deal till 7/8, besides who would gs give us in addition to cj to match emeka's salary.

Hedo for okafor makes too much sense lol

Ideally we would want a three team deal, but if not we are in position to absorb his contract (okafor). The only thing that gets me is why don't we just absorb the contract and trade him later on in the summer. Of course there's always the possibility that bower is dead set on moving cp3 and is patient enough to wait on a taker for okafor

I'd take back Turk in a heartbeat if it meant pairing him with Paul too, and Posey.

Paul - (free agent)
Redick - Pietrus
Turkoglu - Posey - Robinson
Lewis - Bass - Anderson
Howard - Gortat - Orton

Just need a free agent point guard (C.J. Watson I assume) and maybe bring back with Anthony Johnson or Jason Williams too just for insurance.

From a couple reports I've heard, Chris Paul has quietly, yet firmly, asked out of New Orleans - and did so as early as December of last season.

This.

It crossed my mind earlier today, it's just so easy. I think Otis is just playing a little hardball, if a third team isn't found I doubt Otis passes up.

Reports from your sources or reports online? I don't want you to reveal too much info about your sources, but if the reports are online, I'd like to read 'em :)

The reports were from people who supposedly have links in the Hornets org. Not sure how reliable they are.

The thing with taking on Okafor and hoping to trade him later is that it severely handcuffs us from making further deals this summer. Otis is pulling out all the stops to compete with potential Bosh/Wade/Lebron/Amare/Boozer pairings.

Awesome. Thanks. Interesting, for sure. And jeez, Otis is a greedy dude. Getting the league's best point and a double double big man isn't enough? Ha, that's awesome. Personally, I do think Okafor can play the four, and I wish he'd just pull the trigger if that's actually what's holding the deal up, if this is all true.

Paul
Redick
Hedo
Bosh
Dwight

Talk about big three, that's like the enormous three

RawLew, Turk would likely be a 6th man in that scenario.

Eh, I'm not convinced Emeka can play the 4 at all. I'd rather have Brandon Bass play the 4 and keep Emeka on the bench, quite frankly. It's been less than 24 hours since serious rumors starting circulating, and I'm not so sure we do need to hurry up and get take on Emeka so we can nab Paul. Rome wasn't built in a day, and if it takes a few days, week tops, to get the best deal possible, Otis should do that.

Fair enough. You could very well be right. I'm just afraid the new ownership could change their mind and decide that being under the luxury cap is enough.
Also, I'd love a lineup of Paul/Redick/Lewis/Bass/Howard, and I think it could compete with any team no matter what happens in free agency.
