the bucs are in the same situation as the jags it all depends on QB Play. i like the odds that Gabbert does better than Freeman especially with this better coaching staff and more offensive talent around him. from all reports Ace Sanders looks like the biggest steal in the draft thru training camp. we might not have the best qb but Gabberts showing Improvement everyday. hell even henne might be better than Freeman(he was a projected 4000 yard passer last year).
Half the reason the jags sucked last year was a Billion Starting RBs(i mean our offense sputtered without MJD as our RB) and the defenses inability to pressure the QB and get sacks. we get back a Healthy MJD and we have a new scheme and judging from training camp our pass rush seems a good bit better.
Well. I like Freeman. He has shown potential to be very good in this league. He just hasn't made that jump yet. But, he is a legit NFL starter and he has receivers, so it is up to Josh and the coaching staff to see if he gets there. But, he is much better than Gabbert who still looks just horrible to me not to mention Henne. There were so many FA QB's the Jags should have went after that I am still disappointed they stuck with Gabbert. Jags seem to do that often hoping some poor QB does good someday. That is their main drawback.
It pains me to say this, but out of all 3 Florida teams, I would say they rank as follows:
1 Bucs
2 Jags
3 Fins
