I’d say 70% of that internal development revolves around whether Fultz can be healthy. If Fultz isn’t heathy we don’t have Cap to sign a guard come FA and BIG sill have to be broken up to get a guard.

I don't know if I'd say 70%, but definitely a huge chunk of our future. The optimist in me is desperate to believe he'll be healthy for the regular season and looks like the stud we expected him to be coming out of the draft, or even 80% if that player. I can't think of any reason why the FO wouldn't make a move for another PG or even a combo guard through the draft or FA.

This year we scored 107.3 and gave up 106.6
the year before 103.4 and gave up 108.2

IF we can add 1 more point per game on offense, and shave 1 point on defense, I'd consider that success.
Having the same top 6 player rotation is really going to pay off in the 1st half the season.
we started this past year with trying to work
J.I. into a starter roll,
Ross back,
Rookie Mo as back up C,
Martin backing up AG,
Simmons getting minutes
Grant as backup PG

This coming season, we'll be just working Chief is as a backup.
Our backup PG is a returner(MCW)
J.I. was healthy and became truly a starter.
Ross & Wes know their roles
Bamba & Birch now have experience

Hopefully we're working Fultz into the starting line-up too.

Agreed, and the good news is we don't have to count on it!

I think July 15th is the deadline to wave players. There should be an influx of players on the market including Larkin. I'm wondering if any of our players get waved and possibly stretched.

Now that we have our roster kinda set, what do we look to improve come deadline? Let's say worst case scenario that Fultz has yet to see the floor and nothing has changed with Fournier.

Augustine/MCW/*Fultz
Fournier/Ross/Frazier
Isaac/Iwundu/Jeffries?
Gordon/Aminu/*Okeke
Vucevic/Bamba/Birch

Is there any lowkey players that could become available around deadline that we could potentially get? What would be our main concern SG or PG?

Does anyone have that app on your cell phone called zedge? Its free that you add ringtones and notifications, AT&T added the app for me at the AT&T store. When I get notifications, The UCF fight song plays on my phone than as my ringtone I have Old town road. Very happy with my 2 choices.

If Fultz isn't cutting it, get DLo. Fournier & Aminu. Both teams are hard capped so money has to equal.

DeRozan played point some last season for the Spurs and averaged like 6 assists per game. He makes 27.

I wouldn't mind trading AG, Fournier, Fultz, Aminu and get back DeRozan and Dlo.

Not criticizing, just curious, whats this boards obsession with Larkin? I mean i dont really see him as an upgrade short or long term over any of the 3 we currently have and dont really think he has crazy potential or anything?

I was just guessing that the Magic might sign him but I never really liked him when he was with the Celtics. He may of improved and might be an upgrade over MCW.

Shelvin Mack is still available too.

I wondered that too, then I looked at his teams and saw the Reds in there, and it made sense. I'm a bigger fan of the dad than the son.

Effect, we waved Moz, and stretched him. NO way we pick a 4th PG up.

Adding one point on offense and subtracting one on defense are two do-able goals (achieved by mainitning a high apg rate and a low TO rate; two major improvements last year; add further imptroments in defensive rebounding ...).

So, you want the Magic to go from 0.7+ to 2.7+ in points differential. I called that a realistic goal. What does it mean?

Last year that+ 2.7 points differential was about the Sixers at 51-31
In 2017/18 that was the Spurs at 47-35
In 2016/17 that was the Celts at 53-29
In 2015/16 that was the Hornets at 48-34
In 2014/15 that was the Mavs at 50-32
In 2013/14 that was the Suns at 48-34

In other words, the 1 point improvement on offense and 1 point improvement on defense is nearly certain to take the Magic to a 48-50 win rate.

SO yes I would like to see that!

I like that roster but we're deep with low-key players...I only a expect a consolidation move if it appears. Personally, I'd go Westbrook just because he's sitting there to be had and I think he'd fit. I understand that's not really WeHam style and I'm good with that...Next move is, IMO...Beal, DLo, CJ level or stay the course and pray for Fultz. Any of the above are exciting to me as a fan. For all the grim crap on here, the Magic are in a good place.

If Fultz doesn't pan out, the overwhelmingly obvious move to me is flipping Aaron Gordon for a point guard or shooting guard, probably a point guard.
