Yeah, i saw it and it sounds
very familiar. Even down to the "something happened" thing that Dwight said he would later reveal, Chris and David said, "a series of events that transpired after (they were one game from the Western Conference finals) that sent Chris and myself into a different mindset in terms of what we really could get in New Orleans". hmm.
Sounds scripted. It makes me suspicious but I admit they have no owner to appeal to and don't know if the situation will improve. Orlando has it better in that respect because we will spend, but I am not sure about this whole thing anymore. Maybe Dwight changed his mind because he wants to stay and get help, or maybe Dwight changed his tune and not his mind because in that meeting they told him they had another offer from a team he is not interested in going to long-term, and he is backing off. There was a report of other teams being interested in the 1 year rental, although who they were was not said.
I think we may do something, but our options are limited because certain teams are not going to help us because they want Dwight for themselves. Even though he has expressed no interest in them, they won't help because of the chance to change his mind. Like ATL, I don't see them giving up Smith to help us. BOS, DAL, both LA teams, NJ are not trading with us. We have to look at teams that know they have no shot a Dwight, and then hope they have a need that our pieces will fit or Cleveland who just wants to help us stick it to Lebron. j/k about the last part, but i am not optimistic. Holding out hope, but don't believe we are out of the woods in the possibility of losing Dwight.
