A couple tidbits I picked up about Von Wafer from his wiki:
-Went to FSU
-His nickname is the "The Dutch Cookie" (I think this will stick

Von was definitely a good pick up. I hope he can take advantage of the opportunity here to show what he can really do. Makes you wonder if JJ is expendable.

Actually, the more I start to think about it, between Liggins, Harper, Wafer, BBD, Clark, Orton, I'm excited to see this new youth take the court. All are good young prospects imo who have high ceilings (still kinda skeptical of Orton's knees). I hope they get playing time.

I would have to think that JJ is expendable if we have Wafer/Liggins behind him.
I feel ya on that one, our youth is exciting indeed

von wafer may look good in practice, but let's all remember he's being defended by Magic perimeter defense...
that said, i'm hopeful for him. i'll be keen to see how Stan uses him.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
Seeing as today is Friday and our first preseason game is Sunday, I would hope some sort of trade happens today. As of right now the roster is too cluttered and we're still missing that one piece. Monta or Steve Nash please?

ESPNChrisPalmer chris palmer
Top 5 best lob passers: 1. Chris Paul 2. Andre Miller 3. Rajon Rondo 4. Steve Nash 5. Jameer Nelson
Jameer getting some mention in the media. I got faith in the little guy. I hope he sticks with us. I've been a Jameer hater in the past I think, but I've gotten over it. Hope he gets back to all-star form. We're gonna need someone to rep Orlando in our AS game. I don't hold enough faith in Otis to make a move for another PG and a C, and I'd rather have a backup C at this point.

If Hedo is in 09 form? No, but I'm giving Jameer one more shot.

I like this team
to bad d12 doesn't.
echo sentiments on Wafer, always liked him, with the condensed schedule DEPTH is going to be huge. it's an advantage over Miami and Boston

aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Re: Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)
Wafer is an excellent punch off our bench. Really what we needed. Remember when Nate Robinson came off the bench for the Celtics in 2010 Playoffs and tore us a new one? That's the kind of thing I expect from Wafer.
If Liggins can provide solid team defense on the wing, I'll take it.
These are minor additions which I'm pleased with, but I still think we are one Monta Ellis away from being in the Finals.

The Future Has Arrived: Paolo Banchero is coming to Orlando!
