My feeling on Brogdon is he just looks after himself. A lot of his injuries iirc are minor and easy to exaggerate. I don't think he takes any chances with his body.

I might be off, but it always looked that way to me. Not a guy who goes to war, come what may.

Brogdon is already 31 years old which we almost never see 1sts offered for non superstar players.

What is strange is the Heat is the one team that targets 1sts outside the lottery and undrafted players and has had great success with that process being they have the best strength and conditioning program in the league. They must be doing something right as many teams are starting to adopt that but with much less success. If I was Magic management, one of my goals would be to steal one of those Heat individuals who work in that program by offering them more than any other team would. That is how I would roll the dice as opposed to making risky trades. I bet the Heat would make Jett better than the Magic has done and not by gifting minutes and praying like fans think would work, but by developing in a better process. Hopefully, that is what they are doing by sending him to the G-League. Maye, they have someone working with him down there.

Being in top condition and high iq really helps. Pat Riley talked about the beginning of the heat culture in the dwade podcast

I think their coach makes way too many questionable adjustment during the game and many don't work out for him but their players often bail him out. Maybe, it is their program that does it. I would like to learn that by stealing some of their staff, lol. I remember during the Pistons championship runs they accomplished alot due to Arnie Kander.

How do you know there were zero good trades available? Many respected posters on here have lamented the Magic's decision to stand pat as well.

Do you actually think a single poster on this board knows what goes on behind closed doors? Obviously, you nor I do.

We do know McDermott went for a 2nd round pick.

He's a player who can help us.

The Magic have a bounty of 2nd round picks, we are not in the Spurs division. It makes alot of sense for to make that trade.

There isnt much of a reason not to be upset at this.

But you're right we should just be hunkie-dory happy with whatever management does.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Maybe we have been black balled throughout the league and nobody will take Weltman's calls.

I don't think McDermott would have helped much at all.

Great shooter, but a horrendous defender and not really capable of sliding up to guard SGs or sliding down to guard PFs.

So his minutes would have come at the expense of Ingles, who gives more as a passer and facilitator while also being a good shooter (albeit a low volume one).

As a what? If we didn't have Ingles sure. Defense are the same despite the age difference, 3pt threat are the same. He just can't dribble or lead the offense like Jingles can.

Really you think our GM made no calls? What evidence do you have? You think he is completely lying in the Orlando sentinel piece where he said he talked to teams but always hard to know how serious teams on other end were? Also said prices were not what they were comfortable paying
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Kinda cool, I guess these are three guys who are Raptors fans who talk about the NBA but were in Orlando and went to a Magic game and told their experiences in the arena/thoughts on t he team.
