Beyond thrilled with what Weltman has done. A+ draft IMO. Actually kind of surreal.
What do you like most about penda?

I hope they can trade Isaac & use that money to get someone but not sure how some of these contracts look to other teams compared to our fan base lol.

who is going to want to trade for Isaac? i doubt he can even play back to back games yet

Sorry I love so many of you…but so many of you are not recognizing the real worth in this draft.

7…SEVEN…separate team forums were all dying to draft Penda as he is reliable, has amazing instincts, and has that dog in him that teams pray for. He is an incredibly hard worker. This team is creating a “hardest worker in the room” identity and he fits right in.

So many other teams were pissed we got him. Chill and enjoy this.

Dang...

So he cant shoot, he doesnt have the explosiveness to getby his defender and he doesnt have the hops as well...

So yeah..

I can't get past the negatives... regardless of the positives

Same.... that scouting report is just....

And he is 6'7 barefoot. People here thinking he can replace JI who is probably 6'11 barefoot?

guess who this is?

Tweener, undersized for a physical forward yet lacks the athleticism of a wing … Lacks explosiveness, agility, elusiveness and quickness off the bounce … Under the rim finisher, which is troublesome when you consider his size … Not a threat to shake his defender off the dribble … Minimal upside … Vulnerable defending quicker guards on the perimeter … Could stand to drop some weight …

sometimes you have to let a player play and maybe they are better than their weaknesses say

Loved the Jase pick. Don't see the need to move up to get Penda... explain it to me like I'm 5 because I don't love this pick. Where does he fit in with this team? Is this to help cover Mo's defensive deficiencies with the 2nd unit? Cause that's all I can come up with

Dont worry about it.

Me and Howard were on the Bouknight bandwagon and we still here.

Me and eyriq are on the Keyonte George train and we look good so far.

Hes a big bodied defender which is always useful in certain playoff matchups.

Crazy to me how some people still have the star goggles on in the second round. These guys are all role players, and none will be starters. If any of them can play 10 mins a game for a team in a playoff game, this is a homerun.

can he play 15mpg every night? then he is already pushing to be better than JI

and he isnt a PF/C like Isaac, he is a SF/PF defender. he doesnt need to be 6'11

Knightro wrote:Penda is the kind of guy who can have just such a wildly positive impact as a role player.

You need guys - especially on a team that has all-stars - who will play hard as hell, are unselfish and willing passers and are versatile defensively. He's all of those things.

If his three point shot develops into anything average or better, he's a guy who will just be hard to keep off the floor.

And the beauty is, they also have Da Silva who is kind of the invert as a 3/4 type who can shoot, but isn't really a good defender.

His three point shot HAS already showed major improvement...in efficiency and volume. Thats a good sign! He needs to improve some more obviously but by all accounts he plays incredibly hard and is a plus defender and passer already. Lots to like for 2nd round pick.

Oh I agree his contract we could hopefully use as an expiring but as far as actually playing, now we have to wait for him to get back to his regular playing weight so he can hopefully play 15mpg. Was hoping a team like Brooklyn would absorb him but they decided to draft 1/6 of the first round.

Isaac super power is/was guarding the perimeter AND having the ability to block guys like Wemby with ease. Penda isn't replacing that.
