Yeah, if they do trade for Joe, they can kiss Dwight goodbye.

Although, tbh, I don't think they can get him, now.

He really needs to open that list up to OKC. If we can get Westbrook or Harden, I'd take it and run.

If you look at it from OKC's point fo view, it probably makes more sense to keep Westbrook (A 1) and move Harden (a 2). Easier to find a 2 to fill the two spot with a reliable player or lock down defender than a talent like Westbrook at the point.

Ibaka / Harden might actually make sense for both teams, but I'm not sure if OKC does it or not. More realistic scenario might be Harden, Perkins, and a pick or two.

I would do Harden, Ibaka, and Perkins for Dwight and Turkoglu

If Brooklyn can re-sign DWill&Wallace & trade for Joe, there's no chance they can get Dwight .. Maybe they've realized they just don't have what Rob wants for Dwight and have moved their attention away from Dwight?

Wonder what Dwight's reaction would be when he realizes that ..

It's because Dwight opted in also. If he would not have opted in, Brooklyn would be at his doorstep right now and we'd be hearing reports that he's signing with Brooklyn.

Well, sure you would, so would I and probably most on this board, Alex Martins, Rob Hennigan, Dan and Rich Devos. Hell, Otis Smith probably would have taken that deal.

But OKC probably wouldn't. It's too much to give up, to be honest.

Give me Harden, Ibaka, Perry Jones for Dwight. The problem is OKC's cap situation. Even if they included Perkins with Ibaka, Harden, and Jones the salaries still do not match

All NETS can offer now is Lopez and Brooks and that IS NOT ENOUGH. Wallace just signed for 40 million so he would not be part of that trade...so i would say the NETS are out

Teams cannot afford three max contracts in the new CBA (luxury tax wise) unless the rest of the team is filled out with minimum salaries and rookies. Thus, if OKC wanted Dwight, chances are they would be offering Westbrook & Perkins to shed additional salary.

JMO -- Harden could be re-signed to a long term deal today starting in the $12M range. Obviously he would command more on the open market as an RFA, but after his disappointing Finals performance and commitment to the Thunder, he would be under control longer and cheaper than Westbrook.

Makes perfect sense for both teams. Let's get Presti on the phone.

If the Magic didn't "Blackmail" Dwight into opting in, then can you imagine him walking into the open arms of Brooklyn after all this talk of the Magic taking a leap of faith?

Sucks if we have to trade Dwight. I wanted to see Davis/Nicholson play next to him next season.

King is worse than Otis lol... I'm hoping he trades for Johnson, that would take them out of the running

Btw, nets board thinks they are re-signing Wallace so that they can use him in a trade for Dwight

LMAO! Nets fans can't be that stupid. No way we take him back for Howard. In fact if the Nets get Johnson and resign Williams, they are completely out of the Howard running. Howard couldn't even sign their straight up any more, unless he took the MLE, which he won't.

Actually they come fairly close to matching. We'd probably have to absorb Nick Collison as well, but that would put it in the green. http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7ubqfar

I'm not saying they would DO it, but I think most of us would.

I'd have renewed respect for him if he signed there for the MLE next season. At least then we could legitimately believe he went there to win (with Deron, Johnson, and Wallace) rather than just for the endorsement opportunities.
