depending on what the Thunder do with their money, I could see him making a strong offer to Harden...Rob was the guy who pushed for them to draft him over other players many thought were better

Tough call. You could keep Bynum and maybe send Gasol to Houston for a "reduced" package of what they are offering now.
Personally I'd prefer that, but not sure it will happen. RDV though may also prefer this route as it keeps us competitive and potentially allows us to get back in the chase much more quickly.

Looking at the 2013 & 2014 list I think 2013 actually looks better (assumming Kobe, Lebron, ect. stay put). But niether list blows me away.

I think you stay young and try to do some RFA stealing players like
Stephen Curry
Eric Maynor
Tyreke Evans
James Harden
DeMar DeRozan
Serge Ibaka
something like that

So according to the article, trade will wait till next week when the Rockets find out the faith of Asik and Lin.

if they do lin's offer sheet today NY will most likely not wait around and just go ahead and match today. then immediately offer the sheet to Asik and then hopefully they already have their minds made up and match quickly. then maybe we can get the ball rolling this weekend?

Rudolph is an idiot Dwight homer, this would be an ideal situation for us starting over and clearing Mr Smiths mess. also my vote is for Malone as HC especially if we have all these young players to groom. I hope we get Parsons to replace Hedo and Lamb to replace JRich keeping JJ in that 6th man role.

Guys, if it came down to 2 of the 3 rookies, Obviously we would all take Lamb, but which other one would you want ? White or Jones ? I'm torn. Keep in mind i think they send all 3, but still

Teams traditionally wait no matter what. It's a (fake) competitive move to have one of your adversaries money tied up for 3 day. I fully expect both deals to be matched. For the first time ever, I'm excited for a Dwight Howard trade. If everything goes right, we can get rid of Baby, Turk, and Richardson. The only thing I would like better is if Ryan Anderson was still around because he and JJ are the type of guys that would be fun to watch on a bad team, just because they will keep doing what they do.

It will, no way they amnesty Scola without assurance from Hennigan that he will do the trade.

Would love all three, but Jones and Lamb are probably the safest bets to be rotation players but not stars while Royce White has a Anthony Mason/Antoine Walker type upside with a chance to be out of the league in 2 years.

Personally, I take Jones. But I can understand if people took White. Both are good prospects who could end up being very valuable NBA players. IMO Jones is just more stable with intangibles.

On a side note this is crazy that the new CBA will only allow for 4 year Max deals and with this trend where you demand a trade in the last year of your deal that means they are essentially 3 year deals.
You have so little time to build before your star decides to go all voltron on you.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXVII Off-Season Editi
i would take white because it is pretty rare u can find a Big Man that Can run the offense. he needs to overcome his fear of flying and i know that will take tim ebut how does he expect to go from Orlando to LA in 1 nite. if he can keep his anxiety in control with medications(make u sure have paperwork with the league saying ur taking X medication to do that). i also think Jones is More of a tweener than having a true Position.Magic#1 wrote:Ahmadab wrote:Guys, if it came down to 2 of the 3 rookies, Obviously we would all take Lamb, but which other one would you want ? It would be a fun team to watch, with the young talent and all.
That is what I mentioned in an earlier post. That might be the only thing that could hang this trade up. Someone needs to tell RDV that the "win now" ship sailed when Howard hauled butt out to L.A.
THAT'LL BE THE DAY!

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XXXVII Off-Season Editi
The trade will not happen until The Bulls and Knicks decide on matching the offer sheets for Asik and Lin respectively.
The Knicks have said they will match for Lin and Asik is up in the air but we should all be rooting for Chicago to match.
Apparently Ping said last night the next Magic coach is between Brian Shaw and Jacque Vaughn.
Regardless, this team just needs someone who can develop the talent.
