Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLIII Off-Season Editio
So with pretty much all the details for O'Quinn's contract coming out (total years, team options, total salary, first year salary), what happened to the stance that the Magic don't release contract details?
Just some more fuel to the fire that Jameer's contract details mean something about the direction of the team.

I already made that point a week ago and got jumped allllllll over for it. It's "Magic policy" to not release contract details! "Nothing to see here". Sure... *rolls eyes*

I was a big Rashard fan as well.. I don't really get why that means players shouldn't wear #9 though. unless you're implying #9 should be retired

And I'm sure some people will claim that because O'Quinn is a rookie or because the $$ amount is so low that this is "different." But this is the first contract signed by Henny that has been released, so people could've also claimed that Rob will treat contract details differently than Otis (and there was good reason to think that Henny would be more tight lipped with all that's going on).
But now we have a Rob signed contract will all details for a backup or 3rd string center. How come we can't get the details on a contract for the 2nd face of the franchise?

I think because Kyle's contract is so normal, it doesn't really give tell to the future direction of the team. It's a basic rookie contract for a 2nd round pick. However, for Jameer's situation, making it known that year 3 is un-guaranteed or maybe year 2 is un-guaranteed, would somewhat divulge what future plans may be; are we targeting capspace for 2013 FA or 2014?

IMO teams shouldnt retire numbers unless they were like the best players in the league. reshard was good but definitely not ELITE

JV has spoken to all players and won't divulge what was said.

Rome going straight for the Dwight Howard questions. JV doing a good job of keeping it about the TEAM instead of one player.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLIII Off-Season Editio
Jacque is a true player's coach it seems. I can already imagine the players going through a brick wall for him cause he just comes off as a guy that is going to put each player in the right situation.
