I'm sure coach hyping players before season has nothing to do with selling streams, tv ratings, potentially season ticket holders, selling merch... :lol:

Maybe he should have said that Gordon is ready for allstar leap too :lol:

Fultz learning to shoot from deep would be the biggest off-season acquisition. It's a huge game-changer if true.

I wish they'd ask how Okeke is doing. They asked the same question about Fultz 5 times in a row. Clifford talked for 13 minutes about the same thing.

He was also hyping Cody Zeller to be good 3 point shooter. Cody, to this date, in 7 years, made 26 threes.

During 2014 preseason he was hyping Zeller and Vonleh as "more shooting". Guess who never shot ? :lol:

This is not just Clifford, caoch is biggest hypeman and cheerleader of every team. Even if they don't belive it, they say things to help gain confidence and trust of players.
What do you expect Knicks coach to say ? "We have 11 bums on roster, wtf am i doing with my career" ? :lol:

Didn't your ex coach Brown kept repeating " great group of guys " during 10-72 season like a broken record?

They should just extend him. It's getting a little ridiculous that we can't extend players like most every other team.

I think Cliff is more likely to be coaching than hyping. Fultz has been putting in work, so he gets to experience the coach saying nice things about him, and his teammates get to see what a player has to do to earn praise from the coach.

I think we have the two most... interesting? rookie extension candidates right now. Could see it going a lot of different ways in terms of what their possible extension numbers are. But I doubt either happens.

That assumpsion begs the question : so he didn't put in work before?

He is 4th year player this, upcomming year. His shoulder condition either is perminanat or always was excuse. Because nerv demage by any logic, isn't possible to cure. :dontknow:

we need 3 point shooters on this team. The sixers team this year was weirdly built without any shooter and it really hurt then with Simmons not being a factor on offense and it was evident in the playoffs. Its not a surprise why they had one of their worst playoffs last year. They lost JJ, Jimmy, Marco.

I don't know. I'm just addressing why Cliff might be saying nice things about him here as we head into training camp with two rookies likely to be in the rotation.

I'm just saying it's more likely that the coach is coaching rather than deliberately doing the work of the PR department.

The most exciting side effect of Fultz playing at an All-Star level is the possibility that Evan could settle into a third-wheel role as a deadly spot up shooter. He could score just as much (or even more) without disrupting the offensive flow. He's a helluva shooter with good size and the ability to attack close-outs. If they reverted to opportunistic offense instead of creation fails, he and AG could be awesome role players. In their defense, there was NO other primary creator that was a legit threat to take them out of that role previously - maybe DJ, but that's pretty limiting.
