It's just a useless exercise that makes people just sound whiny.
What's next, we gonna say playing Chasson Randle in a game where he scored 25 is stupid? He's sucked most of these games, now it's stupid to play him if he goes off? We should've played a player that we knew before the game that was gonna suck?
Playing the "what if" game with scrubs doesn't work when we're talking about tanking, it's all based on random outbursts of big games.
There's a difference between the Doncic draft and playing our starters the first quarter of the last game (which he had complete control over not doing) when every other team wasn't doing that, versus our scrubs beating other people's scrubs and people nitpicking what scrubs we should've played or not signed.
These arguments make zero sense. Yes, those players played well during those games, that is not lost on me. But nobody sees us signing Mo **** Wagner and Ignas **** Brazdeikis and thinks "Oh no, our tank is in trouble!"
well guess what we may not have thought that but.....the tank is in trouble....the tank was half-assed from the start so it's hollow to even argue any further but thing is we were fine in terms of the tank then they went and did something unnecessary...i wouldn't even be like this if we could skin the cat in a different way but it's draft only for us....i'm sorry about whining about trying to secure better odds to try and land a star potential player....cause scottie barnes ain't it chief....jalen johnson ain't it....end of the day it's just another year the magic didn't tank well enough, will it bite us? we'll see
I just don't know what you're expecting though.. the 2nd worst record? Top 3 all have the same odds for the best pick. We're still in play for that.
That can be our hope, sure, but we won the game against Detroit.. and Cole had two game winners this year. Things we can't exactly control since game winners are just as coin flippy as anything in the NBA. And the game versus Detroit our scrubs outplayed their scrubs, we played our guys like 20 straight minutes and still won.
New tanking rules means we have a good chance as long as we're in the top 4-5, but just as equal chance to move out. Only 1st place would make ppl happy because we can only fall to 5 there.
People need to relax and not hang on to every game or every little thing especially when it comes to tanking.
I am a proponent of tanking and being as bad as we can be when we're a bad team, but that means not freaking out every time scrubs or young guys play well because it will inevitably happen.
We also started from a spot of relative expectance to be a decent team even without Isaac this year, compared to some of these teams that knew they would be bad because they were young. We tore down our team and have absolutely been the 2nd worst team since Feb, so to still be one of the worst teams is impressive to me.
