Him + Paulo + Franz are spoiling me with their pedestrian "durability" lol.

Question, did Suggs breakout with a 20+ point game in his rookie campaign? I would like to think so as he had a longer leash. But Black was SSSOOOO disrespected last night they basically dared him to shoot.

The future PG talk may just be about over.. especially if AB has a few more games like tonight.

Excited to see where this all goes! Hope this gives him a shot of confidence and we see more and more growth. not expecting these results at all... but confidence on the offensive end by him... and as a unit would be awesome as the season progresses. PG fight is going to be interesting and it will be a battle. Competition will only strengthen the team!

He's in the hunt for the rising stars game and first-team all-rookie.

Considering he wasn't projected to be in the rotation it's quite the surprise to me.

You know ball. My pet peeve was him being left out of projected rotations. Then coach literally left him out. If it wasn't for Fultz's injury he'd have been out. Glad he isn't though, and glad he's battling for rookie accolades.

I really like Anthony Black.

I also think his presence on the court is a big problem and one of the main things holding the Magic back.

Franz shooting so awful from three is also a major problem, but one I think he can solve.

He predominantly guarded Brunson last night and held him to his worst game of the season.

Posters here say AB gives us nothing.

The current problem with the team isn't AB it's that 60% of our salaries are out injured.

Its wild that Black is 6'7 and keeps up with small guards. Patrick Williams is 6'7 and he is listed as PF (yes he is heavier).
Its hard to gauge his ceiling at 20 but lets give him some time like we did with Suggs. Athletecism, size, character and work ethic mix is possibly the best we have drafted since we started our rebuild?
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

He's an elite defender as a rookie PG. It's INSANE how good he is already.

I believe in his offensive potential too. He was never going to be a 30ppg guy but I can easily see him as a capable shooter off the dribble, pulling up and shooting right over smaller guards.

I've really liked his game. The numbers won't pop out at you, but he's a big reason that we're a tough defense to play against. His ability to switch between multiple positions on defense and hound other guards is huge. He doesn't make mistakes on offense. He moves the ball and understands how to navigate spaces on the court. You see his 6'7" frame and ability to slice in the lane and can't help but see a glimpse of his future as a lead guard one day. We're probably far from that. He still has to work on his shooting. But he's far more an interesting investment as a point guard project than everyone we've tried since Jameer Nelson.
