For Nets-Magic to progress on a Dwight Howard deal, a 3rd team needed to take Kris Humphries in a sign-and-trade, league source tells Y!

That shouldn't be too hard. KH averaged 14/11 last season.

Yeh....we already have a logjam at the 4 as is, we aren't taking ANOTHER PF on....who would really give up much of anything of value for Humphries though? Personally, I wouldn't TOTALLY object to a scenario that gives us Lopez (on a decent enough deal), Brooks, and then flips Humphries for a good PG and that team's draft pick. Don't think gaining Wallace on a 4 yr deal is smart at this point.

I have immense respect for what you do, I hope you will have at least some respect toward people whose dream (and probably only option) is to play ball.

my grand plan is to wait, there will be better offers. Nets tied their hands by trading for Joe Johnson. Dwight's biggest leverage was that he was able to walk to Brooklyn should we not trade him. Now, it may be gone.

I have little respect for people who have their a$$es kissed every second of every day, aka, professional athletes, movie stars, etc.

As far as my education goes, I have enough as in college, certs and tons of training. Lets just say I won't be begging for jobs once I retire in 6 years.

Your plan is pretty much every ones plan, including my own. I was just giving out a break down of what we should do if the Magic indeed have to deal with the Nets. I'm hoping they don't, but you never know.

I'm pretty sure Rob (as I do) views Humphries as one of those guys who isn't fully committed to playing basketball. Not the "character" type of guy I think he is looking for. A talented young big, seems like a nice enough guy, but kind of a pushover, certainly not a leader-type.

Not exactly cerebral. You marry Kim Kardashian and you pretty much have that label for the rest of your career I think.

This entire Howard-BKN scenario smells more like a threat from Orlando to Houston, LA, Dallas, et al, to get their best offer in stat.

Never thought of this angle. Let's go Rob!

Correct me if Im wrong, so S&T's are gone after this offseason. So with Deron, Joe, and Wallace locked up long term (Assuming Deron signs, which i think he does), if Howard is traded to another team, the Nets will be out of the Howard running for good because whatever team he is on, he cant hamstring them to send him to the Nets since S&T's are gone in next offseason. If I am other teams, I def try to make a push for Howard because the Nets will be out of the equation now.

That's what I said....Rob seems like a smart enough guy. I'm sure he is trying to force other teams to up their ante. Worst case scenario they don't....but why WOULDN'T you include the Nets in the discussions??

I'm 90% sure you are correct on this. Definitely changes the dynamic. Dwight will just keep jumping from team to team that has nothing to offer us but that could sign him outright next summer (reportedly now that Nets might be out, he has added Mavs). I don't know what options he really has after that? My guess is next, Hawks....which I would be somewhat OK with trading with.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA
There isn't great enthusiasm within Magic that the Nets have the ability to make the most appealing offer for Dwight Howard, sources tell Y!

So far, this is true: Orlando hasn't seen an offer from any team that it believes is enough to seriously consider trading Howard now.

For those salaries to work, you would have to get Lopez and Humphries on combined deals of almost $30mil/yr. LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
