I feel like Vaugn was the best coach out there. I trust Hennigans decision. My buddy is a spurs fan and said Vaugn ran a lot of the offense for the Spurs. Probably old news, but I've been at work! He is sad to see him go but happy he'll get to see how he is as a head coach for the Magic. I am excited too! Now what to do with Dwight..

Anyone else thrilled that we are going the Spurs/Thunder route? That's the way to do it with a small market. I LOVE the management decisions!!

Hopefully with the coach signing we can get some things rolling....but i'm not sure what's going to happen to be honest......If the Rockets are the team we're dealing with then nothing happens until late August....do you think we make moves before then? who can we move that doesn't have to be involved in the Dwight deal? if we deal him that is......

Rob Hennigan told Rockets he wasn't ready to trade Dwight yet, so they basically moved on and said they'd try again in a month

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
Sources close to Magic think Rob will attempt to please Dwight first. Some think he's stupid, others think it's a risk worth taking.

Chad Evans ‏@ChadEvansNBA
Dwight apparently brought up the names Josh Smith and Stephen Jackson in the recent meeting as players they said they'd get but never did

I can't believe that! Why would Hennigan care about "pleasing" Howard at this point? Especially at the expense of the franchise? This smells like Fegan again. At least I hope it is. Because if Henny is worried about pleasing Howard, we are in deep trouble.

You know, I do not think Howard has winning as a priority anyway. I think his first priority was endorsement money. Winning a championship is not his number 1 priority. At least it doesn't seem to be.
He wants to be "the go-to-guy." Well it appears he wants to go to the Lakers now. He WILL NOT be the "go-to-guy" there. Where as he could be that guy in Houston. He doesn't seem to me to be interested in "leading" a team to a championship. He seems to be more interested in going to a team where he can "follow" that team to a title.

You're off base a little with your comments. Dwight SHOULD be mad the Magic never landed a Chris Paul or a Josh Smith. If the Magic landed Josh Smith and then convinced Dwight to stay - this team is the number #3 seed in the east. We keep forgetting, LAST YEAR's Magic team spent most of the season as the 3 seed in the east DESPITE all the BS that went on.

The Magic have zero real assets other than Dwight. They are saddled with bloated contracts for aging players. I hate the way Dwight has handled this, but I can't blame him in the least for thinking the Magic situation is looking bleak.[/quote]

I remember reading that Howard was on board with most of the moves. But who knows if that is true. And how do you know the Magic did not try to get who Howard wanted? Just because His Highness wanted them doesn't mean the other team was going to just give them up. And a player has to want to come here. Did Howard do any recruiting? I am not defending the moves Otis Smith made. For the most part they sucked. I was SO relieved when they let Hedo walk. I was telling everyone that that last year he was here was his career year and it was all down hill from there. And it was . Why they resigned him I will never know. He was stinking it up before coming back. But DeVos spent a ton of cash on contracts and luxury tax in an attempt to get that ring. Howard, like most diva athlete's, points the finger at everyone but himself. Howard is looking to go to a team with players who can win HIM a championship. After making sure it is a team in a big market so he can maximize his endorsement money.

Now that's fine. This is America. I happen to be one who believe's in this being a country of opportunity and people should not be punished for their success. But be honest about it. And Howard being mad about this situation is one thing. But the way he AND Fegan is handling this whole situation is criminal. That's my opinion. Hopefully Henny get's things straightened out. I am sure he has a plan to do that. It remains to be seen how successful that plan is. But Howard is making it very difficult for Hennigan to grant his trade wish with his childish antics.

If Dwight just does what his endorsers want, why did he waive his ETO?

Wasn't that for Bird rights reasons? But I agree with Shish.
