unless we(Otis) are working on another major move not involving Dwight, we are throwing the exact same team out there with the exact same deficiencies as least year. It was glaringly obvious that we are not going to compete with the elite teams in the east without some major improvements.
PG - Jameer (still not a great distributor, limited defensively)
SG - Richardson/Redick (neither can create their own shot)
SF - Turk (unmotivated, horrible after his first week back)
PF - BBD and Ryan (basically same as last year, slight improvement with the Bass swap)
C - STUD
We'd better be working on something, or we're out in the 1st round again with this squad and Dwight walks.

^ I still think Redick is better at "creating" his own shot than Richardson at this point, he at least will go to the basket and draw a foul which for him is pretty much an automatic 2 pts. I still think our biggest issue is Turk/back up C/ back up pg, I think Jameer will be fine we just cant rely on Doo doo for anything IMO.

I expect Hughes to be the back-up PG behind Nelson... pushing DuDu to the end of the bench 8-)

If this is true, it's only going to deteriorate the relationship between Dwight and the Magic FO.

Is there a link for this?

Am I the only one that thinks Otis isn't going to do any other big moves? That we're going into the season with this team? And all that Otis is really doing and is busy with is trying to find a good trade for Dwight? :(

you never know... 66 game season... J-Rich more comfortable under SVG's system... Howard improving his FT shooting and overall game... Anderson improving his game... Davis being an upgrade over Bass... Nelson and Hedo possibly having better years... Hughes an upgrade over Duhon off the bench at PG... Orton playing some minutes at C to give Dwight some rest... anything is possible... it's going to be an exciting seeing... you never know :)

i'm sure he's trying, teams know that one Dwight is a free agent with no idea what he wants to do with his future, and our assets are not really strong either.

If no other moves are made, Otis is setting himself up for summer acquisition of Deron. No question about that. We talked a number of threads ago about how to field a competitive roster without screwing up your capspace for 2012 summer. I guess this is what that looks like.

Come March we could jettison some contracts and pick up expirings and then hope for the best.

You never know, stranger things have happened. I do think this team is better than last years team. BBD is a much better player than Bass, especially in the clutch. Hedo could pull it off and get back to his 09 self.

No way Hughes plays over Duhon. Hughes is for insurance only at 3 positions. Hughes may even get cut before camp ends.

If no other moves are made then this is definitely the plan. It is also a plan that could work.
