I'm trying to understand the logic of fans who say that you shouldn't trade a great young prospect for the 2nd best player in the NBA. DWIGHT IS WHAT THE CLIPS HOPE BLAKE WILL BECOME! It's mind boggling. :-?

For the same reason Miami isn't offering Wade, and Durant from OKC, and why Dallas wouldn't trade Dirk, or LA Kobe.. some guys are just too much of a staple to a franchise...

I agree dwight is better than blake, the issue is what works for the clippers and how they built their team and how the make Blake the clippers.

Personally if I were them I would do the trade, i just don't think they will.

Stop we are not getting Blake Griffin.

We could offer Dwight,Anderson,1rd for Blake,Jordan and they would laugh in our face.

if otis got blake in a dwight trade , not only should otis not be fired he should get a raise....no way clips trade griff...especially with other assets the kid is a beast offensively and they have jordan for deffense behind him...not that jordan is great at d but it seems they think hes good enough to protect the rim behind griff....

now to the idea of taking bynum and pau and turning them into westbrook perk and filler...would be nice but with ibaka already in okc ,and they seem really high on him, i doubt they do it ...now maybe bynum plus picks for westbrook and perk may be enough to get them to bite
Summertime and the livin's easy....

You're talking about ALL TIME GREATS! Blake Griffin is a great young player! Is this the twilight zone? 26 years old, three time defensive player in the game and top 2 player in the game and you don't trade Blake for him? Who is more likely to make Chris Paul stay in LA? Dwight or Griffin? If Dwight goes to the Lakers, whats gonna stop Paul from defecting to the Lakers in 2 years?

And the same reason Miami wouldn't trade Lebron for Dwight. I don't think there is any question that Dwight in place of Lebron would just about guarantee multiple championships for the Heat. But, they just won't do it.

according the article, none of the players we have been begging for are going to be traded. Smith, Iggy, Monta are all going to stay where they are at. their team is not interested in trading them, specially not for our players anyways. so it seems like we are stuck with the team we have minus a backup C. This is it folks. no need for my F5 key anymore.

You're right, and I'd rather have Dwight than Blake... but Blake is a younger superstar who happens to be a fan favorite, why do us the favor when they're fine how they are? Clippers are content with anything they're given.

Official Speculation & Free Agency Thread (Part VIII)

So many Nets fans ragging on Magic fans on Dwight's twitter it's disgusting and it look like he's buying it. Just can't believe we're gonna lose Dwight after all the promises to be different...I really hope we can keep the guy til he retires but it's just not looking so great...

There really is no hope for us in the smaller markets unless there is a franchise tag implemented. As much as I wanted to watch basketball I wish the small market owners would have fought harder for that or some other way to ensure that they don't become farm teams . A hard salary cap really wouldn't do it IMO either. All that will do is make it harder for multiple stars to jump onto one team. It helps a little but not enough to protect a team who drafts a star and helps develop them.

Frustrating.

Yeah this is what we'll be going into opening night with barring a minor role player signing. At this point teams are going to see how they do before they make any more moves. As the deadline gets closer and teams that had high hopes see them dashed or realize that changes need to be made then you'll start seeing moves.

W/the Earl Clark Signing, where does that leave the Magic & Their MLE $$$??? I was curious about 2nd tier big men, now that the high end FA's have signed, what's the status of guys like Dalembert, Reggie Evans, Pryzbilla, etc. Does the Kwame Brown signing make for a dangerous precedent of (even more) overpaid big men? Are any of these guys attainable w/what the Magic have left in $$$?

Dalembert might be going to Houston. wouldn't mind Pryz, but didn't he retire?

I bet many Nets or Lakers fans are pretending to be angry Magic fans trashing Dwight on Twitter. That would make all of us look bad.
