I might have missed something... things are moving fast, so it's been hard for me to follow surprisingly enough... are the Josh Smith trade rumors legit? I haven't heard anything more from it, except a tweet from about 30 pages ago.

I really hope get him if we can... but it's going to be difficult... extremely difficult.

This. I would rather have the Allstar. Plus, I would rather have money tied to JSmoove than resigning JJ and Ryan.

JSmoove + Dwight would dominate defensively, and wreck havoc in the paint. I'd do it.

Yeah, but I could still see that happening. IMO, judging by the aura of the game last night in the arena, people knowing it could be Dwight's last game, his teammates excitement to beat the Heat, and the loud fans, I think it made him realize how far he's come with this team. You could tell it was an emotional moment for him. I think it played a huge part in his decision.

thanks for apologizing guys, but its not really needed, as magic fans during all the BS going on you really dont know who or what to believe, which is why i understand people really getting mad at comments with no media back up.

Assuming Dwight is here for another year, you have to seriously consider it. As much as I like Ryno, Smith brings some fantastic defense and even better rebounding, plus he's a guy that probably convinces Dwight that the two of the, should recruit another allstar caliber player to Orlando.

JJ is the tougher call for me - he can easily fill Hedo's role of playmaker, plus is a hustle player and a leader. If that was the only way to get it done, we probably do it, but it's a tough call.

Now, insert JRich in place of JJ and it's a definite yes.

Hmmm.. that's a tough one. IF Dwight opts in, and we're able to clear JRich + BBD + Q + Du, we could go into the summer of 2013 with either:

Dwight/Ryno/JJ

or

Dwight/Smith

or

Dwight/Ellis

THEN still have the room to add one of Paul/Ellis/Smith... which would you prefer as your core?

we're looking at roughly $57M with a core of:

Dwight - $20M
Anderson - $8M (he could be higher or lower)
JJ - $6M (needs to be re-signed, could be cheaper, or more expensive)
JRich - $6M
BBD - $6M
Q - $3M
Duhon - $3M
Hedo - $5M (guaranteed money)

if we can find a takers for JRich + BBD + Q + Du that's a MAX contract right there. we've potentially got a JRich for Beas deal in the pipes. that puts us in the right direction. BBD + Du for SJax, that wipes off another $9M.

we could potentially add Paul/Smith/Ellis to a core of Dwight/Ryno/JJ.
