Teams need their fans the most when they're struggling. Bandwagon fans need to go to the Heat or Nets board and stay there, don't bother coming back when we're winning again.

There will be some rough years ahead, but we're just gonna keep getting better and better till we find the right players to do what Dwight&Shaq never could, bring a championship to the City of Orlando.

+1

I also think that those saying they'll stop being fans are just frustrated in the moment, as they should be. But tough times will make the good ones sweeter.

Deron Williams was open today discussing Dwight's urge to join the Brooklyn project. More than he has ever been. "I think he likes the market,'' Williams said today before practicing with the U.S. Olympic Team at UNLV. "It's a lot different from Orlando. He definitely wants to play with me. We talked about playing together for years. That's a big part of it as well. The last Olympics, we talked about it. That was four years ago.''

Looking more & more like there was several team up discussions in the last olympics, hell probably in 04 one as well.....

Yet no one thinks the Olympic teams (and AAU teams) aren't creating this mess...

He's a prima donna, and the blame is on him. He played every single one of us.

What Otis did is in the past.

However, if Rob takes this deal, there's a reason to be upset. I still believe letting D12 walk and attaining cap space is better than locking Lopez up in a max deal for the next 4 years. Between Jameer/BBD/Lopez, you're looking at straight mediocrity for 3-5 years. If you're going to suck, suck hard and get lottery picks to rebuild. The Nets deal provides no future for us and provides little to be enthused about. The Magic do not have to take it.

Reportedly they (DWill & D12) spoke about this 4 years ago ... about the time the Magic were in the ECFs/Finals.

The Dwight fiasco would not have been a fiasco were it not for that team up plan, thus the Nets only resigning.

If he was just upset about being here, it would have been "I'll sign with a contender" not I'll ONLY sign in Brooklyn".

Sure, they talked about it. But I wouldn't say that was the end all be all. I still believe that had the Magic created a perennial contender in ORL, like the Nets are doing now, D12 would have extended. Magic never gave it to him though.

If that wasn't the start of anything, why would D12 last off-season demand to be traded there? Last off season they hardly were a "perennial contender" <-- not that they are now or even with D12.

Yes but it isn't simply "jameer BBD Lopez" for 3-5 years. We would have draft picks, developing rookies, as well as a good amount of cap space available to go after big free agents. I think people are losing a bit of sight on this. Not saying I like this trade necessarily, I think the Houston one is a much much better one....but I do think people aren't looking far enough into the future (and it isn't really all that far)

If you want to blame someone, blame the GM's who surround guys like Dwight & LeBron w/ Hedo Turkoglu, J.Brick, Chris Duhon, Anthony Parker, Zydrunas Ilguskas, Delonte West & Boobie Gibson.

All of which are either retired our are complete and utter trash in which other teams won't touch, yet got tons of playing times on the Cavs and Magic

Joe Treutlein ‏@Hoopdata

If trading best big in NBA 7 months before trade deadline and can't match compensation yielded for Carmelo or Deron, hold out for more.

What cap space? We're not getting rid of any bad deals in this trade aside from J-Rich, and we will be taking a much bigger bad contract with the new bloated Brook Lopez deal. He'll get at least $12 mil per year for 4 or 5 seasons. Just terrible. If we're getting cap space out of this, I'd be thrilled. But we're not even getting that.
