Because if they match Asik they think Gibson will ask for the same kind of deal next summer.

If both of them get 8m/year, those are both reasonable contracts IMO ..

If they wanna keep contending, they gotta pay ..

Isn't that game at 6pm?

I don't know, that's a direct cut and paste from bleacher report.

Houston officials, though, remain steadfast in their belief that, even if the Bulls decline to match on Asik, they'll be able to absorb at least three of the four aforementioned Magic role players: Richardson, Davis, Duhon and Turkoglu. Sources say the Rockets would have to send Kevin Martin, Patrick Patterson, Marcus Morris and Chandler Parsons to the Magic from their current roster to make the salary-cap math work, as well the draft rights to Jeremy Lamb, Royce White and Terrence Jones, all selected in last month's first round.

Asik is alright, but he is not worth that kind of money. If I was the Bulls, I wouldn't match either.

Maybe they meant 3pm pacific?

I included today's schedule in the Summer League thread, took the schedule from NBA.com. They have the Rockets game at 6pm ET

Another thing to remember is that there are no reports of Scola's amnesty being a done deal. None. Everything you'll read just says the Rockets are considering it or on the verge of it, which tells you a) it's related to the Dwight Howard talks, and b) that Houston won't just give away a big asset without knowing it's part of this bigger picture.

I think it's safe to deduce that if Scola is amnestied, a trade with Orlando will be a lot closer to actually going down.

I think Asik is a little bit overpaid, i'd say 6M a year is a good number.

The problem is that they already pay Boozer 15M, Noah 11M, Deng 13M and Rose 15M. That's too much money in 6 players (assuming they match Asik and offer the same kind of deal to Gibson).

Isn't Asik's offer is 5 mil, 5 mil, and 14 mil? Cap hit on deal is 8 mil beacause it is averaged over life of deal.

Also, don't expect Morey to include Parsons in any trade scenarios.

Exactly. We have to spend $49.34M on this year roster to loose as many games as possible. We need overpayed players on short contracts.

SO we got

2sgs
2sfs
3pfs(i think marcus and Jones are better PFs than SF)

definitely no need to bring FRAN over with that amount of bigs coming back
