Ok just saw some footage of BBD playing some pickup over at Worldstar......to me he looks like he could still stand lose about 15-20 more pounds....

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLIV Off-Season Edition
The fact that most everyone says this is a terrible trade probably means that it's actually a really good trade. Dumping duhon and Richardson is huge but taking back harrington is a real head scratcher. Also
the draft picks being heavily protected doesn't make much sense. Guess we will see.
I like this way, way way better than the new jersey trade. Unless we one day find out that the Houston trade of swapping rosters was real then thus was the best available trade. People wanting bynum and the majority of you posting are too much in the win now mode mentality. That was never going to happen with or without dwight AT THIS point. A full rebuild was required. If anything I'm happy that hennigan didn't cave to what the fans would have wanted.

Also, for the record, during the last 20 games of the season Afflalo averaged 18.2 ppg while shooting 52.4% from the field and 45.5% from three.
I, for the first time in over a year, am genuinely excited about my team again.
It's like a weight has been lifted all of our shoulders.

I think we should all start planning for Tuesday, March 12th.
We got to make sure we give Dwight a warm welcome home.
My sign will read:
"5 Children. 5 Different Mothers. 0 Championships"
We should also start thinking about chants. We got to make this worse than Cleveland when LeBron returned home. I'm thinking "F***uck you Coward clap clap clap clap clap F***uck you Coward". And we definately need a chant about him following in Shaq's footsteps. We need to think about this tuff people!

Alright, I surrender any hope after this, especially when it's coming from the very reliable David Aldridge.
The rumored "DONE" deal is all but inevitable at this junction.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLIV Off-Season Edition
The trade is exactly what I thought it would be. Good, young prospects, dumping bad salary, sucking to get early picks and extra draft picks for Rob to get some more talent.
Call it blind faith all you want, I trust Rob Hennigan. I had that feeling we had a real cancer at the place, and it wasn't only Howard. Rob wanted to change the culture and make the Orlando Magic different to what it was. He kept the good guys, cleared the bad, and will have a chance to build a team that will form what he wants. This wasn't just a minor clean, it's a re-birth!
For that to happen, we have to start at the bottom. We are now there. But I can see the positives and optimism.
At the very least, we will have a team that will go out and fight for us. Been a long time since I have seen that.... Enough of this prima donna crap and selfish athlete attitude. The Orlando Magic should be placed higher than the individual. Finally, it just may be....
I am behind this 100%.

Likewise.
Sometimes you have to take a step back to take a few steps forward.
The way I look at it, the 2012 season will be a season of finding an identity, developing young players, developing a system under new Head Coach Jacque Vaughn. It gives JV a FULL season to DEVELOP these youngsters while figuring out what roles best suit them.
If everything goes accordingly, the Magic are going to be GOOD for a long time. It's all about PATIENCE.

I never had faith in Henny (although I didn't ever doubt him, either, just being from OKC doesn't automatically make you great to me, though), but now I'm pretty sure we'll be viewing him through Otis-Colored glasses soon.
Damn, this is the last thing you want to see when you wake up in the morning. This trade is garbage.

Why are people blaming Hennigan alone? remember people this isn't the Otis era where he could do everything wanted.....This go around Hennigan has to get everything approved by Alex and the DeVoses First....so if the deal is Ok'd then it was approved by Alex and the Devos Family....so if you have to blame something then blame the entire organization.....because i do.....breaking up a Finals team only to field a worse team? then year after year fail to put a competent team around Dwight.....Poorly run Franchise we are....

Yeah like Jason Richardson and Duhon were owed a hefty pricetag, have you seen Aaron Afflalo and Harrington salaries? we still have Hedo and his laziness.

Indeed.
Good thing about this, it'll help "weed" out a lot of the "fair weather" fans that have hopped on this bandwagon since 2004. (Dwight)

Oh no I blame everyone.
Maybe the league promised us a Top 3 pick in exchange for making the Lakers relevant again?
At least, that's what I hope.

And maybe most people think this is a terrible trade because it IS a terrible trade. Nobody is arguing we were not in store for a rebuild. But trading Dwight should have brought us some valuable building blocks. Some are calling this trade a "blockbuster." It is but LA, Denver and Philly got the "blocks" and we got "busted." I would have rather had, Lamb, DM and Toronto pick and one other top pick then this garbage. At least we would have had something to build on.
THAT'LL BE THE DAY!

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLIV Off-Season Edition
i think this trade is just a massive LOL in the face of anyone who wanted to trade Dwight. we were never gonna get fair value for him, and this deal just highlights that.
personally, i don't care. i'm excited in seeing what these young kids can do, particularly with strong, positive influences like Jameer, JJ, BBD and Afflalo on board. our record without Dwight was something like 4-6 (or something close), so i wouldn't be surprised if this team managed to compete for the 8th seed in the East (or, worst of all, if it fought its way into mediocrity, so we couldn't even rebuild properly).
Nicholson, KO and Harkless will have time to prove themselves this year, which is good.

As horrible as this trade is, can someone please explain why we took on Al Harrington? Not only does he have a horrible contract, but dont we already have 18 PFs on the roster, all of which will outperform him and cost alot less
