The difference is PG wants to go to a winner or a team that is set up to win...that doesn't equal us.

Didn't reports come out today say that he doesn't necessarily want a win now team, just a team that can win in the future? I don't think many big names have any desire to play in Orlando, but PG may actually be one. That guy loved him some Vogel.

Man, what if NO some how ends up with a top 3 pick this summer? Jrue Holiday, AD, Boogie and a top 3 pick in a stacked draft.

Wow. Cousins moving to NOP for a pretty damn low offer in the end. Makes me think we could've had him for Fournier + Vuc + Hezonja/future picks.

"As I told Larry (Bird), I always want to play on a winning team. I always want to be part of a team that has a chance to win it [all]. That's important," said George.

I agree there is a relationship with Vogel, but we aren't winning now and nothing indicates we have made moves to be successful in the future.

The Pelicans are going to be so scary the rest of the year. Even if the Pelicans can't resign Boogie, They gave up 2 draft picks but they didn't really give up any good players they had. The Pelicans will make the playoffs and I definitely think they are to advance past the 1st round of the playoffs if they get a 7th seed or higher and avoid the Warriors in the 1st round as the 8th seed. I would not be shocked if the Pelicans made the Western Conference Finals and beat the Warriors. Pelicans do have issue now with their guard play, but they'll be so scary with Boogie and Anthony alone.

It be nice if we coulda got Boogie, but I think we are best off tanking to get a top 5 pick as opposed to landing Cousins, than making the playoffs, lose in the 1st round, Demarcus leaves and now we didn't get a top draft pick.

Doubtful. They wouldn't have wanted to take on that $$$$

Some people are ridiculous.

Hennigan trades our (even protected) 2017 pick with assets of any kind = panic move/desperate GM/Kings got a great deal

Cousins then leaves = OMG fire Hennigan! We lost all of our future assets!

Hennigan makes no such trade = he's sitting on his hands/we could have offered more/we need a star/ Cousins is actually a great guy with no character issues

I swear some people from these threads wouldn't be happy if we actually won a championship.

RIGHT!!! I swear for some people on this board.... they will never be pleased with anything at this point that is attached to the Hennigan name. There is no gray area for them. Any team in the league could be saying the same thing.... Pels were the only one that took the risk and because of the high risk had a low price. Pssssshhhhh.... boston could have just said.... pick and all kinds of garbage and fillers to make it work if they wanted to. But would you pawn the future on a seemingly volatile situation. Just to say.... "We have a star"..... then he bolts. At least with the Pelicans can already connect with another star level talent.... and a solid guard..... Then try their best to fill in everything else. Terrence jones is probably going to be flipped for a sg or sf. Resign Boogie and Jrue and things will be looking solid for them. He comes here and we've given away a lot of talent to get him....uhmmmmmmmm..... it will be a mad house around here and peoples blood pressure will be spiking until we see ink hit the paper. and if it doesn't pick forks and torches would be outside Hennigans house by most of you'll. as hennigan would say "Calculated Risks"

Would not be surprised if we offer something for Terrence Jones. Once Jeff Green is gone we will need the depth.

They said Vlade was weighing multiple offers and eventually presented the "top two" to ownership.

I 100% we made this offer. It would absolutely be worth the risk.

But they received a 2017 first from NO and likely would have demanded our 2017 first. For a star on a long deal I wouldn't think twice about it but for a guy who can walk in a year, that pick would be one of our only ways of quickly convincing him to resign. NO had Davis to do that for them.

Jones contact is only for $1M and expires after at the end of this year. Not sure I'd give anything of value for that, do we have a trade Exp from Serge??

yeah, i wouldnt give any value for Jones for 2 months. And he has been in league for 5 years now, he is a backup PF that thinks he can shoot 3 ptr's, but isnt really good at it.

2nd round pick or tpe for jones,

dj+green= reggie jackson
Ag+Vuc+Fournier+pick+mario for Jimmy Butler or PG13, yes it is just a pipedream, but isnt that what we all do on here?

Biz-Zim
Jones(dleague prospect) Rudez
Butler or PG13 (bring back anthony Brown)Rudez
Ross, Cj watson, cj wilcox
Jackson, EP4, dleague pg

Strong starting line-up for the future, Biz thrives with scorers around him, develop Zim, strenthen bench in offseason

Had he traded for cousins, I would have never spoken a bad word about the guy again. I honestly believe he tried but his hands were tied by devos/Martins this time. Don't think they're cousins fans.
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D
