Re: Official 2025 Offseason Thread
The taxpayer MLE is $5.685m…that’s still a pretty good chunk for a reserve vet like Dinwiddie or Tyus or maybe even a GTJ if he loves the fit

With the glut of wings on this team, I bet it would be used on some PF. Especially, if the Magic can move Slim and Jett.

We are about to enter a transaction-heavy window in July. JI and Jett trade warnings in full effect.

Time to get creative. We can add a Vet min contract for our last guard spot? Given we keep Moe.

Re: Official 2025 Offseason Thread
Some will push back, but if we signed Dinwiddie to whatever deal is correct (maybe vet min, maybe TMLE)…I bet he ends up playing 20 mpg. He’s that guy like Oubre who nobody dreams of but he makes an impact wherever he is. I think he’s a good fit for our bench and I imagine the price is right…he’s big, tight handle, defends and can go for 20 here and there.

In summary (so far) we have added Bane and drafted Iverson & Draymond
What’s next for us optimistic folks?

I suppose we need to move someone before free agency starts so we can have the mle, right?

Hey, where’s Dennis Smith jr? Didn’t he have a nice “rebirth” a year or two ago? Same with Dante Exum (credit to Adam), Jordan McLaughlin? Monte Morris? I wouldn’t rule out CoJo and I’m always pushing Dinwiddie. Westbrook is exciting AND scary at the same time
I’m also intrigued by AB’s backcourt partner from Arkansas…idk how attached CHA is to him-Nick Smith jr

I don’t think Caleb can get any cheaper than his option.

I’m absolutely holding onto Caleb…unless he’s part of a significant move. His price vs rep for hard work vs single elite skill vs size ratio makes him a bargain for an end of the bench guy with big game capabilities some nights/DNPs others

Vet guard seems to be pretty important. Moe may be the less important move.
Guards:
Suggs Bane
AB Jase Jett

You forgot Houstan and Queen. We got plenty of guards while Centers appear to get injured more often due to more physical play in the paint thus depth is important for big men. Guards are a dime a dozen when it comes to 3rd and 4th guards.

Re: Official 2025 Offseason Thread
From Weltman’s presser last night he made it sound like they are not expecting Mo and Caleb to be back next year. That teams are interested in them…thats the tone I got.

Caleb can go, we need reliable performers not hypotheticals that may pop off for 12 every 22 games.
If we lost Mo and had nothing to show for it (not using the MLE on a guard) then that would be really bad imo.
Mo is out probably until Christmas, I’m not too sure many teams are going to be want to invest real money into someone coming back from a long rehab and on top of that there’s literally only one team with significant cap space.
Mo might play this the wrong way and end up having to take a vet min.

No, Andreas Obst is not a free agent in the NBA. He recently signed a contract extension with Bayern Munich that will keep him with the team until the end of the 2025-26 season. Maybe next year!
