Baron is an UFA. Shumpert and JR will be the SG's and Melo can fill in big lineups. I have never seen Kidd play the SG position. In Dallas, Terry would play off and Kidd would be point and in Jersey, VC was SG. I'm sure he can fill the posistion if he had to, but Kidd is a pure PG.

Kidd would guard the sg's though.

The rockets would he terrible after proposed trade. Imagine if the magic had spent 8 mil a year on a backup center, the depth would be terrible. No money to fill the roster. I can't see how this works for them. At most they take back 27 mil of our contracts.

We should have traded with Houston on draft night.

Call me crazy, but I love what Rob Hennigan is doing. Too many times in the past, the front office has pulled the trigger on impulse trades, but now, they are being patient. They can afford to do this having the best big man in the league available. Let the Lakers, Rockets, Cavs,Nets...etc bid against each other. In the end, I am more confident than ever, we will get the best possible deal.

Injuries? Houston needs Dwight to be the next hakeem and Lin to be Kenny.

It's hard for me to agree with you when I don't even know what the actual offer was from Houston.

Nets can't bid anymore, rockets won't be as flexible if they take on Lin and Asik, lakers gave away all their picks and lost flexibility as well by taking Nash. Our options are dwindling. We can't wait forever.

That's true, but I think we could have squeezed out all three draft picks plus Lowry... Don't you? It's hard to believe they'll give us lamb and jones with toronto's pick now but who knows...

We didnt want Lowery and his market value has been set, the Toronto pick. How is the offer worse now?

I understand the Nets are out of it until Jan 15th, but I think the Rockets are even more desparate today than yesterday. Getting Lin, a guy they really didn't expect to get, vaulted them to a new level of thinking. I would bet the addition of Lin is making Houston think they have a guy they can now pair with Dwight and motivate him to sign an extention. If Lin is not matched by the NYK, the Rockets will up their offer for Dwight. Having Lin in a rebuilding mode makes no sense. The Rockets want to compete for a title. Having Lamb, Jones and White with Lin does not fit with that thinking. Gambling on getting Dwight and having him sign for a larger contract than on the open market is more ideal.

Call me crazy but all those three draft picks plus Lowry is not a great deal. I think we will get better as they get more desperate to get Dwight. They have been keen for this for the longest time, Hennigan knows this. They ain't about to do all the trading they have done and make the space for Linsanity and Asik? C'mon now...

Dwight Howard will be a Rocket. We will start a rebuild under Hennigan. I am excited about that.

A Guy that player well for a few weeks does not entice Howard to sign an extension. Would Lin and Asik on the magic make us a contender?

+1, but isn't Wayns now with the Warriors? I'm good with getting Douglas, Martin, Lamb, Parsons, T Jones and picks. Also PF would probably be more like this, Nicholson/Harper/Clark/T Jones.

I guess I missed Wayns moving on...I haven't seen the last 2 SL games. Is C Westbrook still on the team? has he gotten any burn? how has he looked??

The picks, I think we could have had all three before names were applied. What if only one is offered as rumored now? Bit disappointing in comparison,no?

100%. I really don't know what other trade Rob was considering. Then again there is much we don't know as fans so I think it's safe to say Rob must have noticed a flaw somewhere along the line.
