All this lazy vibe with McLemore has come from nowhere! Because he held back in a workout? I think a few have hit the nail...
We have to trust Henny, he won't draft a guy with no work ethic or a guy who can't develop and progress

Guys,
Just like everyone else I've been thinking about the draft,
If we don't take Mclemore or we trade down I'm interested in CJ Mcollum.
Would/should we trade
#2+ Turkoglu
for
Detroit Pistons #8+ their 2 second rounders
or
Aaron Afflalo
for
#8
or
#2
for OKC
#12+ #29
Mcollum and Tony Mitchell would be a good draft

i'd do affalalo for #8. wouldn't do the other two. getting basically a 2nd from okc isn't worth moving down 10 spots. and isn't turk's deal not guaranteed after this year? or partially guaranteed? something like that.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. LV - NBA Draft Edition)
Noel/McLemore/Burke/McCollum if we end up with any of these I won't blow a gasket.
If it's Oladipo/Bennett/Carter-Williams I will be highly skeptical, but ill deal and give it a wait and see.

Turk and Harrington both only guaranteed 50% of their remaining salaries. Good thing is there is no one in the draft that is going to come in and make us better right away or much at all next year, so we'll get a good pick in 2014.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. LV - NBA Draft Edition)
NBA Draft Green Room Invites are out:
Noel, Oladipo, Porter, Len, Bennett, McLemore, Burke, Carter-Williams, McCollum & Zeller.
These guys are the ones that were highest on all GMs lists, right?

Who would have guessed a year ago that Muhammad wouldn't even be invited to the green room.

You don't want a player who will work his ass off and give everything he has while he is on the floor?
Yes, I do, but I don't think you can forecast something like that or put a value on it right now. There are too many variables. It's not a statistic. Rumors are McLemore is mailing it in in his workouts but he and his camp and few reporters say that's false and everyone that's ever been associated with him say he's the hardest worker they've ever seen.
Dipo has just as much a chance to become a lazy bum as McLemore does and they both have just the same chance to become hard workers. I brought this up a while back, but I was reading about Jordan and that was the case with him. Same thing with Ray Allen. One day, something clicked, and they just changed for the better. Other people go the opposite direction and fall apart after being great. It's just a crapshoot that I don't really value when evaluating prospects.
I disagree , I think you can tell if someone is a hard worker or not very easily . I'm not saying McLemore is a lazy bum because I don't know him nor have I spent time around him . I hope he is a hard worker because he is likely the most talented player who will be available to us in this draft .

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. LV - NBA Draft Edition)
maybe this explains why Noel lost that weight
and of course his opinion
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/o ... 0035.story
Noel weighed 206 pounds during last month's NBA Draft Combine, and his lack of bulk alarmed some scouts. But Calipari noted that Noel's medical team wanted Noel to lose some weight to help his rehabilitation. Noel now weighs around 220 pounds
and of course his opinion
John Calipari, said teams would be making a gargantuan mistake if they pass on Noel.
"How many 7-footers who block shots do you really have in that league?" Calipari said in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel. "How many? You just don't. So, if you pass on this, you're hoping and praying he doesn't make it, because it's a talent league
"The teams that are winning championships have talented players that are good people and who are driven and self-motivated. This is the most talented player with the most upside in the draft. He is it."

Does he do this with a lot of his former players? I don't recall him hyping up anyone else this much

Why wouldn't he? The higher his players go, the better it is for his recruiting.

But the question is, is if he ever sold a player of his this much before, and I don't recall Calipari doing this ever. He has one of the better prospect records as well, so take it for what it is.

I really wish i knew if Noel could play PF full time... i dont think he can, but if he could then i would draft him and not think twice about it.

I guess I meant to say that I'm not sure if he ever sold a player this much, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did, or more. I haven't really recalled much of what he's said about his top prospects in the past, and I haven't heard him talk much about Noel this year. Just wouldn't put much into what he says either way.

I don't see why he couldn't I actually think that is the only place that he will have success in the NBA.
